WiFi Adapter not Working on My PC

I just built a pc and I have to use a WiFi adapter. When I plug it in windows doesn’t detect it and it won’t connect to the WiFi. Please help, I think it’s some thing with the bios but I could be wrong. My Motherboard is B350 PC Mate msi. thanks

I'm not aware of anything in the BIOS that would cause that issue, short of turning off the USB ports entirely.  If anything works in those ports then this sounds more like a faulty WiFi adapter.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

Did you even install the drivers?

Even if you don't install the drivers I would expect it to be detected in some form, eg showing up as Unknown Device in device manager.

They probably didn't look there.  Most people just expect crap to magically work these days.

 

@MrCool127 install the drivers that came with the card or download them off of the manufacturers website.

I have Ubuntu and windows 10 installed on my PC. Ubuntu is fine, but everyone i switch back to windows I have to unplug and plug back in the wifi adapter. Windows 10 seems to be fussy when it comes to wifi adapters, I have been through three.

 

Does yours happen to be a wireless N adapter by tp-link?
