M.2 ssd OS migration

jonwong966

Hey, I was thinking of buying a laptop (MSI gs63vr) with 128gb m.2 SSD and a 1 TB HDD. I had a spare 1tb m.2 SSD from a recent build I don't use anymore so I had the idea to switch out the m.2 SSD and take out the HDD. But I don't know if this laptop has 2 m.2 slots. I'm pretty sure it doesn't but is there any way of migrating the OS to the other SSD? or do I have to reinstall windows onto the new SSD? And will windows still be activated?

A fresh install is probably your only (and best) option and Windows should auto-activate because the key is stored in the UEFI.
