First time building a PC. Ryzen APU setup.

Hello guys, this is gonna be my first time building a PC. So I wanna ask you guys for an opinion of my building lists.

Ryzen 3 2200G

Asrock AB350M Pro4

8GB DDR4 2133MHz Single Channel (Planning to upgrade soon)

WD Green 120GB M.2 SSD for OS

Seagate Barracuda 1TB

I am going to upgrade to GTX 1050 Ti soon since I don't have enough money yet. So yeah.. is it going to bottleneck the system?

Total price (GTX 1050 Ti excluded) is about $350 in my country. Thanks.

*pardon my english*

I sure hope your RAM upgrade is going to come very soon. Ryzen APUs suffer severe performance reductions when running single channel with one RAM module. Having a 2x4GB kit of DDR4-3000 RAM is the minimum I'd personally go with one of these APUs, as Ryzen CPUs in general are extremely reliant on RAM frequency.

As for the 1050TI, no the APU will not bottleneck it.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

Seems like a pretty nice little system.

A 1050Ti would suit the system perfectly fine.

I hope you didn't forget the power supply and the case ;)

I'm gonna upgrade the ram as well as the 1050 Ti in maybe next month or sooner than that. So yeah. And I'm not going to games on the APU tho because I know the APU is kinda sucks. I'm just gonna sorta "experiencing" the setup I'm gonna build. Thanks a lot tho. Didnt expect anyone to reply this fast haha.

Huhu thank you.. I already have a really cheap kinda nice looking case with RGB fan LOL and a 650W power supply which is too overkill tho.

Actually it doesnt. With 16GB of dual channel 3200MHz C16 memory it can make the GT1030 GDDR5 sweat in the balls.

It isnt an intel hd graphics, it is actually as good as some dedicated graphics cards, it can play games at 1080p medium at over 60fps.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Get at least 3000mhz memmory in dualchannel. Dont pair Ryzen with singlechannel 2133mhz.

Oof.. 3200MHz is really really expensive.. I mean 2133Mhz is expensive enough here. Its really out of my budget.

at least get multiple sticks so you get dual channel. Single channel hurts Ryzen (not just APU) performance quite a bit.

Ohh I see.. yeah I will upgrade to dual channel maybe next month or sooner than that.. because at this point, I just wanna build a working "gaming" PC.. I mean I'm just gonna kinda explore the new build.. I know it sounds weird but I will and of course I'm gonna upgrade this build, but later.

I am not familiar with ryzen aAPUs prices so ask around maybe but if you won't use the igpu almost at all woulnd't a cheap intel be better? Something like the i3 8100, i know ryzen is better performance/dollar generally but aren't you paying for the igpu which you will just use to browse chrome for a month, and in the end the i3 8100 would be perform better with the 1050ti wouldn't it? And price should be similar imo.

EDIT: i know the i3 8100 is not really recommended because non APU ryzens have better performance/dollar ratio but it's not an option as he needs an Igpu for a month.

EDIT 2: also from what i know intel is way less ram dependant than ryzen isn't it?(speeds i mean and this is a 2133mhz build)

Because it hurts Ryzen a lot. At least get a single stick of 3000mhz. 2133mhz is just not for ryzen

well.. i dont really care about the ryzen apu.. i mean sure, i can browse chrome for a month watching YouTube, listen to podcast etc. while waiting to buy an external gpu because thats what I do right now.. I literally don't play any games at all for this year.. I currently using an Intel Pentium E2180, GT220, and 160GB hard drive that I pulled out of my old laptop. I mean I have using it all this year haha and the system that I'm gonna build is kinda like the big move for me, like really really big. So yea I can live browsing Chrome for a month until I get my external GPU.. and then I will buy any games that I have been wanted for so long to play. And for the RAM, I will consider it later since everyone are literally say no to 2133MHz due to Ryzen's APU.

Hmm okay.. I will consider it later though.. haha everyone in here are literally don't want me to buy low clock speed RAM..  but how about 2400MHz Hyperx Fury 8GB single channel, and then for the next month I will add another one? Is it okay? Will it hurt Ryzen?

Its a little better. But 2400 mhz is not much better. 2933mhz is what i call minimum. At that point 3000 mhz cheaper

Single Channel hurts Ryzen when it's above 8 threads. On the 4/4 or 4/8 setups, single channel isn't a problem for the CPU side of things. It's under 2800 or using an iGPU that's a problem. For either the 12 thread or 16 thread CPUs, then they're memory starved with single channel.

Because the iGPU uses system memory, if you're playing games, single channel kills the performance by about 35%. If you're not playing games, you won't notice it.

Get at least 2666 or 3000 memory. It's worth the price difference. You don't need 3200, it's just nicer.

Oh wow I just checked online store in my country that 2666MHz ram is around $10 less than 2133MHz for some reason.. I dont know.. damn.. thats a lot I mean for me its a lot though haha.. and it has a really nice review.. I probably gonna buy at least 2666MHz.. Thats the nice thing that you pushed me out to get a higher clock speed.. if you didn't do that, I wouldn't get any better price/performance.. Thanks thanks and thanks a lot.

2666 is fine. If you're not gaming anything heavy, it'll work fine for the APU. If the store has a 2x 4 Gb pack, that'd be even better.

Since my post i see that you found faster ram so ryzen is fine but what i said was if you go the intel route you will have worse performance for the first month, the igpu is much faster in the ryzen apu but the intel would be faster after you put a 1050ti in it and they even cost the same. And as you said you don't care too much for the first month i would consider looking at intel processors too.
