Good deal or not?

So I've been looking for a laptop lately and I think I've FINALLY found a decent laptop that meets my requirements. Here's the link to it (I'm planning on buying it directly from HP): https://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=4BQ45UA&opt=ABL&sel=NTB

 

It has an i5 8250u, 8GB of RAM (which can be upgraded), a 1T Toshiba 5400RPM HDD (There's an empty M.2 slot as well), an amazing 1080p IPS touchscreen display, and it also comes with an okay mouse and backpack. All of this will cost me $775 CAD before tax ($588 USD).

 

My laptop will be used for productivity so battery life, the screen, the keyboard, the IO and the general usability were the most important factors for me when looking for a laptop. I'm also planning on adding in a 250GB 960 EVO PCIe M.2 SSD because it's 2018 and I'm not going to boot my OS off a 5400RPM HDD, and that'll cost me an additional $150 CAD ($115 USD).

 

This is the other laptop I might buy (https://www.costco.ca/HP-Pavilion-15-cs0003ca-Laptop%2c-i5-8250U.product.100421379.html) and the only difference between the laptop above and this is that this one costs $900 CAD ($685 USD) but it has a 256GB PCIe SSD instead of a slow 1T HDD, and this one doesn't come with a mouse or backpack. 

 

So which one is a better deal (Which one would you buy of the two)? Thanks in advance.

Build quality is fine but battery life is poor

 

What's your budget? Any links of online stores?

My budget is $900 CAD and I'll buy from Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, Staples, or from the laptop company's online store like HP, Dell, etc.

Could you list out all 8250U/8550U laptops that are within your budget? (sorry but I'm sick now and don't have time to go through all the websites)
