H500P

Razorlob

I am looking for a case that had good looks and can fit a full custom water cooling loop. Also, one that has space for a verticle GPU mount. What are your thought about the Coolermaster H500P?

Trash, build quality is crap and I suggest the Phanteks Pro M black or special edition with white interior. Perfect for custom loops and the sliding mount for top liquid cooler.

Best & worst cases for your money in 2018 are:

Best Cases overall

I) Fractal Design Meshify C - Airflow and relatively quiet, best all around case

I) Phanteks Enthoo Pro M / Special Edition (white interior) - Airflow & full water cooling support

I) Fractal Define R6 - Silent with decent airflow

I) Be Quiet! DB 900 (Full Tower) - Airflow and silent

I) Fractal Design Meshify C mini (mATX)

I) Corsair 400C - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Phanteks 350X - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Fractal Design Focus G

Cases that may be worth your money

I) Thermaltake G21 - GPU and CPU cooling issues, modest tweaking
I) Silverstone RL06 / Pro - Mustard/Ketchup wires, Shitty cable management, Poor front radiator support, useless psu filter, stupid ssd layout
I) In Win 303

I) Coolermaster H500 no suffix - if 200mm fans are your thing

I) NZXT H700 non "i" version - Needs to come down in price to be worth it

I) Corsair Carbide 100R - Suitable for low end builds

The worst cases - Do Not Buy

I) NZXT S340/Elite, H500, H440 (everything except the H700) Reason: Poor airflow
I) Coolermaster Masterbox 5

Majority of cases on the market

@Gedgn

That's a fairly bold comment.  The H500P Mesh is a completely usable case.  I have a system built in it right now and have zero complaints with it.  Do I think you are incorrect with your Phanteks recommendation? Not at all.  I just think the distinction needs to be made between the H500P and the 500P Mesh where the qa/qc was tightened up.  It's not absolute trash in its revised state.  Though to answer the OP question, it can certainly run a custom loop.  It has plenty of room to do whatever you want.

It's not that bad of a case, but the price is the problem. You need the H500P mesh to get any useful airflow from the front and avoid the crappy made first batch of products (which CM has a difficult time getting rid of, they deserve it), and that's $150. Corsair has the older 460X RGB at $130, and the newer (but older than H500P) 570X RGB at $180, both are better than the H500P mesh.

The case that you recommended is more like my old NZXT S340 Elite. I feel like the H500P has the most amount of space and flexibility. For instance, the case comes with a verticle GPU option and space for a triple radiator Config.

if you want space, get ATX full towers instead.

@StealthArsenal Would I recommend the H500P, H500P Mesh, H500M of course not. Horrible first product (H500P), still crappy H500P Mesh (for the money) and still with the H500M. Honestly this case was all hype and I'm not forgiving on the marketing crap they pulled with the H500P being high airflow. They was utter nonsense.

Now they're new revision of this case the H500 no suffix will be interesting to see how it came along, until that's out and I've seen it and tested it, I can't recommend it.

@Razorlob The Phanteks is roomier inside the only and worth the price. It doesn't allow for 200mm fans, otherwise radiator options are the same.

What do you think about the corsair obsidian RGB?https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-OBSIDIAN-Mid-Tower-Tempered-Aluminum/dp/B07C46L1D8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533951102&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+obsidian+500d+rgb+se

It's been released and tested ;)

I do NOT recommend you use any vertical GPU mount unless you plan on water cooling the card. The native mounts found in cases put the card far too close to the glass and dont allow the fans to pull air into the shrouds (Reference blower OR open air designs)

If you really like the vertical look, there are kits sold from many different retailers. @CableMod's use the 7 expansion slots bays to reorient the card. This might not be feasible for every case since some cases use support braces in between PCI-E brackets, but if your case doesn't have them or you dont mind hacking them off, its an option. (On closer inspection, Cablemod's bracket offsets the bracket and includes adapter cables for a clean solution) Another is @Mnpctech's selection of Vertical GPU mounts ranging from 120mm case mounts to DIY case modding your own slot ( i would personally recommend the Stage 2 case fan mount for less modding of the case)

@TVwazhere our vertical bracket requires no modding actually as we space it forward to account for cable routing, with the inclusion of two angled cables for clean routing. :)

@CableMod But what would you recommend for case that is supported of Verticle GPU Mounting

@Razorlob if you're doing air cooling, our solution is spaced properly away from the side panels to ensure proper airflow still, so our solution. If you're going to block the card though it doesn't matter if you go right up against the side panels.

@CableMod So do you think the H500M Is a good choice for a case?

@Razorlob haven't worked in that one personally, but it does look very neat. My personal favorite currently is the Fractal Design Define R6, overall fantastic build quality and great options for any scenario really, especially if you plan to do a custom loop.

I'm very pleased with the H500P.  I feel its very well made but luckily for us, we have lots of very good options.
