Have you seen this thread? may be 770s have some problem strictly with your model. That user talks about 680m compatibility

yes, ive read several threads about the GTX680 being the highest "supported" MXM card on the M17X R3, but, i have yet to Find a 100% confirmation, because, my friend plans to go Ebay hunting and buy also the 2960XM, and a decent Gpu (would cost 300$ max) and is still way cheaper than buying a  "new" gaming laptop

so would you say the 680m will be a 100% secure buy?, the Alienware already has the 3heatsink 100 w tdp cooler, and the 240w adapter so its all setup

Main PC:| CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 @ 4.1, MOBO: Asus B350 PRIME , RAM: LPX Vengance 2400 16gb kit, GPU: 980Ti Poseidon Platinum 6gb
PSU: SilverStone Strider Gold Evolution 1200w , CASE: HAF 932  HDDs:240gb EX900 HP NVME 6TB (2x3 Seagate Barracuda)
                COOLING: ThermalTake Contac Silent 12
Laptop:MSI GL62 7RD  CPU: Core i5 7300HQ, RAM: 16GB 2400mhz, :GPU GTX 1050 2GB: HDDs: 256gb adata NVME + 1TB HDD

love all brands, will go for whats cheaper for my needs

As I said many times, post a dedicated thread with your question there on NotebookReview Forum where many AW Owners surely can help you better
