To buy, or not to buy, that is the question

Hello everyone,

 

I am really struggling here, I can't make any choice in regard of my next upgrade. I was planning to get a GTX 1070, and prices seem to be great these days, but I am really curious to wait and see the new GPUs, yet I fear that I will not be able to afford them, and prices of older GPUs would go up again. So what should I do? I don't want to buy one now and regret it later, nor would I like to leave empty handed if I decide to wait for the announcement.

Buy a card, enjoy it, game like a boss.  If you can afford a 1070, you aren't going to be phased by a price drop.  

 

No offense but there are multiple "should I buy" posts daily.  Check those out for more info.

 

Short answer, buy what you need in life when it's at a good price for you.  Don't wait, life is too short.

Neither AMD nor Nvidia has announced their new lineup officially. I would buy cause there is always this "new upgrade" right around the corner.

Should you buy? Here's the answer - Do you need/want it? Can you afford it without it causing you problems? Then you should buy it.

The question is: Will you benefit from that purchase? If you can justify the cost than sure go for it. It's a good card and with the current pace at which technology is developing there rarely is a "good time" to upgrade because regardless of when you buy something there's always something about to be released. So in my opinion, go for it. It's senseless to wait for next gen.
