x370 and R7 1700 or Z370 i7 8700k

Hey all.

 

I got a ryzen 7 1700 oc'ed to 3.8 ghz on an Asus prime X370-pro. I do have a Be Quiet Dark rock 4, but i can't get my cpu higher than 3.8 ghz stable.

together with a GTX 1080 strix.

I play on a 1440p monitor with 144hz.

I don't do anything else than gaming, and i try to run my games on max settings but still with 100+ fps.

So i have been thinking on getting an i7 8700k instead and an Asus maximus X hero motherboard.

But i don't know if i should do it or nah.

Dont bother. If you want performance it will be better and a LOT cheaper to wait for Ryzen 3 in April.

i swapped froem a 1700 at 4ghz to a 8700k at 5ghz and the gaming improvment was really noticable espacially at 144hz
