Best under 300$ smartphone

I live in India so I need to be able to buy it here. This is for my mother and main concerns are build quality(she drops it a lot), battery life and performance in general.

I have decided to go for the Xiaomi Mi A2 which has the great price to performance of Xiaomi with USB type C and stock Android and speedy updates. Any better phones???

Looks good almost same price on amazon.in but software is bad. Thx anyway will ask my mom which she likes the look of.

Take a look at the Nokia 6 and Nokia 6.1.

 

Very solid build quality, good OS support with clean Android with no Bloatware.

 

Probably one of the better budget phones put there

I have looked at them but the hardware especially processor is not upto the mark for the price. It is more expensive than the Mi A2 and the slightly better build quality is not worth the downgrade in performance.

has 4Gbs of RAM 64GB of storage, 1.8 octa core and a decent gpu. Build quality is beyond good, the display is really soft, and again the build quality is awesome. Its 300$ for the 4GB 64GB model which i would buy. 70$ for double the storage + 1GB of ram. It also has 2 back cameras. 12MP for the main and the other is a 5MP. And it has 2 front cameras one 16 and one is 8.

The software is stock android with no bloatware. Just a good around phone.

The processor is way outdated or I would have already bought it.
