Why did you choose a GTX 1080? Its way more expensive and pretty much the same as the GTX1070Ti. Or did i miss something?

Im also not sure what cooling system i should get. The case supports several fans and got 2 included. But im not sure whether or not i should replace the ones that are included, how many fans i should add, watercooling or not etc. I think im gonna skip RGB fans cause they are just more expensive and im out for performance.

The Adata doesn't have any advantages that I know of, was just the best price for what I wanted. If you decide to change the memory make sure it is at least 3000mhz.

 

The reason I picked a 1080 is because a 1070ti can overclock to stock 1080 levels, but an overclocked 1080 will still be 15% or so faster.

 

The case I picked was just something generic that would serve your needs. There are other cases out there that are just as good if not better for similar price points. If you are wanting to add water-cooling then a case change is probably warranted. I am just giving you the ground work you can customize and change as needed.

You'll be fine using that combination of GPU & CPU.

 

Do not go for the E8500 as it is slower over-all.

 

Can I just ask, how much are you going to pay for that HD7750?

And what PSU (Power Supply) do you have in your PC at this moment.

I'd say the motherboard & CPU.

Swapping out just the CPU isn't an option as what you have is the best you can get in that socket.

 

Personally I'd then look at some Ryzen chips, like a Ryzen 5 2600 or a Ryzen 7 1700x if it's on clearance/sale.

RAM prices dropped, seeing as you'd be going from DDR3->DDR4, 16 GB's should be enough.

 

That'll be my two cents, take it or leave it

And bruh, which GT 1030 are you using? The DDR4 model of the GDDR5 one? Because that makes huge difference. The DDR4 version is basically a paper weight.

So I noticed my cpu load gets very high reaching 100% often. I'm sure there is a bottleneck but I don't know how to fix it? I play on a monitor Acer Predator 2k resolution at 144hz. I tend to play games on high-ultra settings.

MSI b250 m3 gaming motherboard

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 founder's edition

CPU: Intel i7-7700k @ 4.2GHz

RAM: Kingston HyperX 2400 MHz (16Gb)

CPU Cooling: Corsair H80i v2

PSU: 800W+(I think its 800 or 850 but definitely not below 800W)

I'm using this to play AAA games at high settings on a 1080p 144hz panel. (I prefer quality more than frame rate)

Also, I may use this setup to play VR in the future.

Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance.

TB3 is limited to 4 PCI-E lanes, where a high end GPU would be notably bottlenecked at anything below 8X (8 PCI-E lanes). So you're kind of stuck with the performance you have

Yeah, that's definitely some bottleneck there.

I'm having memory clock fluctuate wildly during certain games (e.g. RainbowSIX Siege), but not all of them (e.g. Battlefield 1 & 5). Since I don't mind the noise and know HBM memories are sensitive to temperatures, I've set very aggressive fan curves and maximized the power limit. 

What could be the problem here..?

Hmmm... I would imagine the card doesn't like being throttled to 4 lanes and is freaking out as it sees a load, but is trying to send more data faster than PCI-E 4X can take. Is it causing stuttering?

Yes but only in some games, not all of them. For example RainbowSix is having stuttering. Overwatch is having unstable frame rate varies from mid-90 all the way to around 140, but no stuttering. However, Battlefield 1&5 is running perfectly fine at around 80 FPS under maximum settings.

OW is weird, cap it at 100 FPS.

 

As for R6S... im not sure. Try turning on VSync.

Hey, I would like to know where the bottleneck in my system lies. (It’s my graphics cards, but I’m wondering how much of a difference upgrading will make)

 

I have:

-An i9 9900k

- (2x) GeForce GTX 980ti classified edition

-16 Gb 3000Mhz RAM

-Samsung 750 evo SSD

-1440p 144hz monitor

 

My scenario is this:

I have been trying to get into streaming lately, and I originally had a 6700K, however I upgraded because even streaming CSGO was so much of a hit to performance that I was not receiving 144 FPS at max settings. While the 9900k solved that problem for CSGO, I have now started to see other problems with stream performance while in games like Overwatch, Rainbow Six or Apex Legends. It’s confusing though because I am not having any performance issues on my end while gaming. The thing I thought to do is to encode using x264 instead of NVENC, but while this fixes the issue of stream performance in Overwatch, Apex legends and rainbow six still have issues with the stream performance. My CPU is only using about 4% (according to streamlabs) at the heaviest intensity of encoding. So where is the bottleneckint occurring? The 2 980tis?

 

Lastly is my question on how much an upgrade would help. If I bought a 2080ti, would I suddenly not see any problem with any game, or would it only make it marginally better? If it’s only a marginal difference, maybe upgrading isn’t worth it, but for good performance on stream, it definitely is to me.

 

If you want to check my stream performance to help your answer out; my twitch username is jarboy2, and I’ve saved my most recent streams in order to show how they suffer when I switch to Rainbow Six and Apex Legends.

I've often wondered if my PC has a bottleneck, since I'm running a 1080ti with a ryzen 1700x at 1440p. At the time though it made a lot of sense, since an 8700k and 1080 was about the same price as a 1700x and a 1080 ti.

Hey, i plan on building this. Does any of you see any problems with this?

Caste: NZXT s340 Elite

Colling: 2x corsair SP140 in the front to (hopefully) get a positive case pressure. But with the limited airflow of the s340 Elite AND the dust net we´ll see

1x the standard exhaust fan who was shipped with the case and 1x NZXT Kraken M.22 mounted as the top exhaust.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (not sure wether or not i should pick the x model, or which mhz value)

Motherboard: ASRock B450 Steel Legend

RAM: G.Skill DIMM 16GB DDR4 2666

GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming 8G (1620MHZ version, the 1830MHZ version apparently isnt worth it?)

 

Please tell me your thoughts. My goal is to have a future proof rig that i can play top games on for the next 3-4 years for under 1500€.
