Is Your Gaming Rig Being Bottlenecked??

is the rest of the system so old that a new GFX card would be pointless?

Yes,
Go used, you can probably grab a cheap last gen Ryzen CPU and Mobo for 100 Pounds, used GTX1060 6gb or 8GB 580 will be another 100 or so (prices are screwy ATM but should settle once the human malware is over), add some ram and you're good to go

Everyone hates bottlenecks. It’s a common question on our forums to ask whether a part will be a bottleneck… But what does a bottleneck even look like, and how can you avoid one?

Buy a Core i7 8700K:
On Amazon: http://geni.us/JlcIN
On Newegg: http://geni.us/RLfD

Buy a Ryzen 3 2200G:
On Amazon: http://geni.us/jaZX9RZ
On Newegg: http://geni.us/1vxxfGB

Buy a GeForce GT 1030:
On Amazon: http://geni.us/RUD3m
On Newegg: http://geni.us/mSAqGt

Buy a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB:
On Amazon: http://geni.us/9iVpPWq
On Newegg: http://geni.us/R10t

My rig has a R5 2600 and RTX 2700 super.

I think I may have a cpu bottleneck.

so i'm wondering if i replace i3 2120 3.30 ghz with i5 3470 3.2 ghz

will it make a different in playing apex legends with mid quality and resolution at 60 fps?

I’m currently looking at building my own PC as I found out that websites that build them for you are way more expensive than how much you can get the parts on amazon for. Would a Ryzen 5 2600x bottle neck a 2060?

I have an i7-7700. I have to buy a gpu. I will perhaps get myself a rtx 2060. Will it cause a cpu bottleneck?

0.02% bottleneck,Graphic card and processor will work great together on 1080p resolution.

I play at 1080p and have the experience I want so therefore bottleneck calculators are fine.

My planned upgrade path for this CPU is to 1440p using a 5700 which calc says 2.5%, again perfect.

I feel like I planned my upgrade path well!

i5 8600 - RX580 - Fractal Nano S - 1080p 144Hz

Want to investigate the bottlenecks in my rig? My guess would be... EVERYTHING.

Ironically if everything is slow then your system isn't bottlenecked :P

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

New here and I'm coming from a 2012 Mac Pro with Windows 10 Pro for gaming.

Building my second PC after 15 years and just wondering if i will get a bottleneck

I already purchased everything and just waiting for delivery.

Parts list

NZXT H1

Asus B450-I gaming

Ryzen 3900XT

G.Skill Memory 32GB @ 3200hz

EVGA 1080ti FTW3 edition < Pulled from my 2012 Mac Pro

I know the card might be to out dated compared to the CPU, but I just love the card so much I dont wanna let it go.

Thank you

i have a i9900k and rtx 2080ti and for some odd reason i only get a gpu usage of 30 percent and its killing my vr performance and i cannot overclock enough to get it to move and bring better performance. i thought it was a voltage issue but i have a 1000watt power supply. any ideas?

Is my setup bottlenecking?

i5 8600 and a gtx 1060 6b with 16gb system ram

I'm looking to upgrade the gtx to a 2000 series and potentially pair it up with a suitable cpu, cpu would need to be same connector as the i5 as a motherboard change is out of the question.

Used mainly for VR gaming with a bit of flat screen gaming (limited for space in my home , so the flat screen is actually my 47" TV, please don't shoot me for this)

Any tips would be greatly welcomed

Cheers, The Worminator

I bottlenecked my Ryzen by accident by running my 32gb of 3200mhz DDR4 in single channel and at only 2133mhz xD
