A 3480x1080 monitor, is the exact same thing as having two 1920x1080 monitors. The same PPI, and all that other good stuff. I dont quite understand your question though...

So I'm looking at a set of 3 new monitors the 3840x1080 monitors are $30 more expensive (than the 1920x1080) each totalling $90.

Is it worth the little extra? Will I notice the difference between the monitor sets?

Do you mean you are buying three monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080.?

Because three monitors would give a resolution of 5760x1080 not 3840x1080. 

 

If you are thinking of Nvidia surround/AMD Eyefinity, they are both awesome to experience. Once you go to surround you will never go back to one.

Though on the downside some games do not support surround and will have to be played on one screen.

They dont make 3840x1080 monitors....

I'll have to repost when I get home, absolutely shocking clarity. I'm looking at buying 3 monitors

Option A: Buy 3 1920x1080 monitors

Option B: Buy 3 3840x1080 monitors (costs $90 more)

Would I notice option B being better, or am I wasting money? 

a single 3840 x 1080 monitors don't exist at least to my knowledge.

Now they do make 2560x1080 monitors, which are longer than 1920x1080.

If there was a resolution of 3840x1080. That would be a horrible resolution and very few games would support it. 

That would be a resolution of 11520x1080. Ewwww

the sales man prob got confused.... the only 1080 resolutions are 1920x1080 and 2560x1080 and the only 3840 resolution screen is  3840x2160 and they are around 3,000USD

You're probably thinking of the 2560x1080 monitors. Really wide. I quite like them  ^_^ Though if you're getting three of them, I'd recommend the standard 1920x1080 monitors. You need a lot of desk space for 3 of those 2560x1080 monitors. I own three 24" 1080p monitors and they take up a fair amount of space.

dell 24inch 4k monitor is $1400 i think. the 28inch being less that 1g
