pagefile and hiberfil size

goto10

my laptop came with 4 gbs of ram, i upgraded it to 8, i was expecting windows to resize both hiberfil and pagefile files, but they remain the same

should i leave windows to keep files like they are now or maybe they can cause problems in the future, especially hiberfil, it is quite small, 2.9gbs, i was expecting it to grow up to 8 gbs more or less

my biggest concer is that i have a smalish ssd, and if the hiberfil doesn't grow, a wake up from hiberation might get me in trouble, will try to open lots of programs and see if that affects the hiberfil size, thank you

It would actually be the process of going into hibernation you'd want to be concerned with, as if Windows needs more space (up to 1.5x your currently installed RAM) to hibernate but your SSD is too full, it may fail to hibernate. Either way, I'd recommend having at least 10% free space on any computers' boot drive as Windows needs this space to work on things like updates and manage the system.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, RTX2060) Mobile: OnePlus 5T | Koodo - 75GB Data + Data Rollover for $45/month
Laptop: Dell XPS 15 9560 (the real 15" MacBook Pro that Apple didn't make) Tablet: iPad Mini 5 | Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 | Panasonic TS20D Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

not only that, if you fill up a ssd the speed vanishes, that is my concern, already have filled 50 of 110 gbs, this is one of the reasons to ask about the hiberfil and pagefile

Do you have HDD also in that system? You can move both files to HDD (or pagefile at least).
