I'm happy with the result and the temperatures are good too, after 15-20 minutes OCCT + Furmark / Aida 64 CPU+GPU torture test, im getting max 67°C on the cpu

  • 2 weeks later...

Did you have any issue with your psu? I built something similar but with a 12v 5A power brick. I guess it's not enough since it shutdowns suddenly after a couple of hours on and didn't turno on after a while. I was considering a 7A. But your build made me reconsider moving up yo 12.5A.

No issues at all with the psu, Im happy with it

I don't know what build you have, so it highly depends on what CPU and components you have if you pc shut downs, do you have, I can't really help if I dont know the specs, but you can look at the TDP of your CPU/GPU and calculate 60% more power for the power supply, so lets say if you have a i3 with a 55W TDP, a 90W power supply (good quality) should be enough.

Thank you very much. My build has a core i3 4130. I checked the tdp is 54w. So a 60w psu is not enough. I'll look for a 120w one. I have to add about 10w for a SSD, 2.5w for a noctua fan, and i'm pretty sure i'll plug an external hard drive ocassionaly. The motherboard includes a wifi module but in favor of thermals i'll use ethernet. I'm affraid 90w would be very tight since the psus i found did't tell any info about it's quality or even if them has any certification.

How the hell i supposed a 60w psu could be enough? My mistake, it was the included psu with the realan 60mm and i was lazzy to even check it's specs until begin to fails.

I really wouldve suggested an am1 system for something like this, those little 25w athlon 5350's are still good enough for everyday usage and gaming up to like, csgo in 720p or minecraft or whatever. The integrated R3 graphics on the kabini chips outperform HD 4000 and due to the significantly lower tdp you can run those on very tiny coolers. Arctic (the silver thermal paste peoples) make a couple AM1 coolers ranging from entire passive to almost inaudible unless you put your ear in the fan.

obviously your build is done now and i aint gonna crap on it, its just what i wouldve done differently

i do really like the tower cooler aesthetic poking out of the case, ive been wanting to do something like that with one of these

This looks really cool! Might try this in the future.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Thanks! And for the AMD apu's I got one 2-3 years ago but I find them pretty slow actually

And little temperatures update
I did an hour test with OCCT
1534155480-52.png

Still really good temps :):)
After 40 minutes they stabilized and stopped rising

Then I tested with the case vertically and I lost about 5°c, not a lot but still noticeable :)
