Not able to achieve 75 Hz?

Rillu

Hi everyone!

I recently bought an LG 24MK430H as it seemed like a decent budget monitor. It is advertised as having 75 Hz, but for some reason it is stuck at 60 Hz. I have a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB GPU and according to other forums I've looked at, the refresh rate should be 75 Hz.

I'm using a Display Port to HDMI adapter on the GPU as the monitor only comes with a HDMI or VGA input.

Any thoughts?

Check in your NVIDIA control panel under the resolution option to make sure 75hz is selected in refresh rate

Check the manual to see if that refresh rate is only available at lower resolutions.

Yep! I've looked under the control panel. It looks like 60 Hz is the highest for some reason.

Looking at the manual, it says 1920 x 1080 75 Hz is possible.

I have a 75Hz monitor too, make sure to use native resolution at the advertised refresh rate.

I've posted my control panel specs above. I'm boggled. :/

If you're using a Type 1 DP to HDMI adapter, it will be limited to 60 Hz at 1080p.

I had no idea about this! I looked at the specs of my GPU and it says it has a DisplayPort 1.4. Looking at the adapter I got, I'm not sure if it's either Type 1 or 2. But given my situation, I would assume it's Type 1.
