If brains had usb support....

Recommended Posts

This is wrong on so many levels I'm not even going to bother with a full explanation but no. Your brain doesn't work like that.

Brains are more like a half programed FPGA that continues to adapt and self program by comparing input and output over time.

QuicK and DirtY. Read the CoC it's like a guide on how not to be moron.  Also I don't have an issue with the VS series.

Sometimes I miss contractions like n't on the end of words like wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't.    Please don't be a dick,  make allowances when reading my posts.

Ok. I know, i’m stupid. BUT THIS QUESTION F**KED ME UP ALL NIGHT THINKING! I know that brains work like a HARD DISK... corrent?

then... if brains had usb support... wouldn’t it be possible to transfer stuff to brain? For me, sound cool! Cuz Histoy is Hard for me.

please, no hate, but i have so many questions! Are we just operating systems? Can we run windows? Can we run MAC OS? Android? Ios? Linux? Free DOS? Can our pc run... “brain.exe”? Can we connect brain at pc as an actual hard drive?

Can I upload the notion of OMG-I-LOVE-WASAB-HE-IS-THE-COOLEST-I-JUST-WISH-TO-BOW-DOWN-LICK-HIS-TOES-WORSHIP-HIM-LIKE-A-GOD-AND-HAVE-HIS-CHILD into your head?

OK, so I'm gonna try to break this down and make it simple.

Brains do a lot more than a hard disk. Brains also "compute", it's basically a full computer.

Also, we'd probably end up getting stuff like this:

  Reveal hidden contents

No it isn't. I once ask my computer science professor if brain is just a biological computer because neurons is just the celluar version of transistors and he said such question is better suited for the literature department.  They can write up great fantasy novels on the idea but I deal with actual computer science.

brain.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Press OK to lose all your work, and probably have to reinstall brain.exe from a clean slate.

Ok if you could use USB to transfer files to your brain then those memory loss pills will stop selling, and then because some of them are made with jellyfish, the jellyfish will overpopulate and then someone who goes to Florida for a nice spring vacation is going to get stung and some of the (:b) drive is gonna get corrupted and then the dude that got stung is going to spread the corrupted files and then 1/2 the population of the earth is going to have corrupted brain files, and these people will reproduce so then all the newborn babies with have a corrupted bootloader and so in like 100 years the whole world will be like windows vista enterprise and everyone will have the same intellect as 40 year female facebook users and then Jesus will come again and he will get the brain virus, die and then everyone in heaven is gonna have brain.exe has stopped working. then everyone will get sucked into a black hole

the end

I mean, the brain isn't just storage. It thinks, which prompted my reply.

Dude...have you seen 'Johnny Mnemonic' with Keanu Reeves? It's a movie where this guy downloads and smuggles information in his brain. But your thinking isn't stupid. Haven't you seen recent developments in technology where quadriplegic patients are able to interface with computers with their minds using technology? Or where robotic limbs are reacting to thought/intentions?

Think about it. We are machines....super advanced biological machines - robots, but with free will. Our brain is a computer with short term memory (RAM), long-term memory (Hard-drive), with video inputs (eyes) and built in GPU, audio inputs (ears), millions of sensors (nerves), and a CPU (brain) capable of processing and analyzing data, predicting/forecasting, and innovating. Our heart is our power unit. Our skin and immune system is our virus protection. Our blood is our CPU's (brain) water cooling. If we over-heat our CPU shuts down and reboots. If we get hit hard enough on our CPU we shut down and reboot. Too many hits to our head will cause degradation and corruption of data processing, just look at football players. Our DNA is a storage mechanism enough to fill books to the moon, light years more advanced than us. And our DNA also contains damage control and repair/regeneration mechanisms. That's why when we cut ourselves, our body heals itself.

But ya...scientists are already working on decoding brain signals and imputing them into computers for numerous applications, with moderate success. So it's only a matter of time until we can input information INTO our brains.

so they are like FPGA? if i feed my FPGA with alcohol/drugs will it become more creative?

With a USB port in my brain...I think that I would download memories and get really high out of my mind. I mean you could change the way you see colour, depth and contrast...You could also numb pain receptors. Surely that must have interesting effects. Imagine drugs without the withdrawal. That would be wonderful.

Memorizing stuff....psssht! That’s what paper is for. And now we have Wikipedia and smartphones.

Of course, if we remain under this atrocious system of capitalism, this technology will only be available for the super rich...so it doesn't matter for us :/

This article (http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/03/dna-could-store-all-worlds-data-one-room) is about how DNA could be used for storage so it could be possible to have a USB port in your head. If you ignore the negatives imagine never having to go to school and just plug in a USB drive with quantum mechanics and completely understanding it. That's pretty sweet. right? (only if it was protected which is almost impossible now)
