nope, one connected to to card will work fine. You may need a sff 8087 cable.

Ahh okay, I'll see if my dad lets me use his PC for testing and then if he does, I'll take a look around the board and find the pcie slots, then I'll update you guys on how it goes

Also if I do plug it in, where would I go to check if the raid card has been detected by the system?

Aaaaand, I also heard that dell's raid card connection is proprietary and only connects to their servers, is that true?

should show with the same menu during boot and will show up under pcie devices.

I see... but is it true that the raid controller is proprietary to only dell servers?

Yea, I noticed that the raid controller connection on my server does not look like a PCIE connector... so I guess I can't test the raid controller in another system
