WHAT LAPTOP IS BETTER THAN A MACPRO 15"

My daughter is going to college this year and we have being using Mac's for long time , however with the new Mac's now having issues with keyboards and repair issues i would like to find out about a comparable or better laptop that i can buy and if need repair, Something with comparable specs and price

I would take a look at the Huawei Matebook X PRO (2018), the Surface lineup, Dell XPS, and LG Gram (2018)

Any of the models i mention will either have better specs and price, same specs lower price and just as good build quality.

 

Are you shure you need a powerful thin and light?

Since you are mentioning the MacBookPro 15".  I would start my search by checking out the Dell XPS 15 offerings.

if repairing is an issue because gravity is strong in your family: buy one with a 3 year warranty and a drop'n'coffee insurance - dell has quite reasonable prices for this - besides insurance companies offer such things too.

Don't forget the software. If nothing special is used windows or mac os wont matter - but who knows... I often see people being happy with tablets and bluetooth-keyboards. Depending on whats all the college-thing about. I would never be able to live like that - but that's sort of not so important here 9_9

You can't really compare apples to apples. ha pun. If she uses it because of MacOS, security, familiarity, or efficiency you can't find anything else. If you are just looking for a light weight ultrabook then why you using a mac in the first place? I would look at the XPS lineup, Lenevo thinpad, and the yoga lineup
