Budget AMD Mini ITX build for around $800

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

If you can stretch it, you can get this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor  ($159.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard  ($107.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: ADATA - XPG GAMMIX D10 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($149.90 @ Newegg)
Storage: ADATA - XPG SX6000 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($62.99 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($43.90 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card  ($269.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Silverstone - Sugo SG13B-Q Mini ITX Tower Case  ($48.99 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Gold 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $898.74

Though really the system @Herman Mcpootis came up with is going to be extremely hard to beat. I would, however, spend the extra $1 to get a WD drive :P

Also consider shelling out another $70 for another 8GB of RAM.

I have already made a list of parts to buy off of Newegg. Any suggestions?

You’re spending too much on the PSU, a quality 550W unit would be fine. That case is actually physically large enough to support an mATX board, so I’d suggest a smaller case to get all the benefits of ITX.

I found the 550 watt power supply, but the case is fine for me. Also, will I need a CPU cooler or does the chip I selected come with a stock cooler?

Honestly, I'd probably spend less on the SSD, see if you can get the R3 1200 for a cheaper price, and get a better graphics card.

As mentioned, you don't need that much power.

Also, if the motherboard doesn't have the latest BIOS, you'll have to deal with that as well.

If you want people to know you've replied you have to quote them like this or tag them like this @ZippN

Problems with that build:

  • PSU is overly expensive
  • Might as well get a microATX motherboard if you use that case
  • You can get cheaper B and H series chipsets, since the chip can't overclock
  • The CryOrig H7 is a better cooler

@dizmo sorry man, new here.

Also, I'll go with this power supply, the CryOrig cooler that you suggested, this Fractal Designs case (good enough for my needs), and I'll stick with the motherboard in the list.
