What’s the worst part of your rig?

MeltyMoon

Cheap plastics case and my 7950 sounds like a hair dryer because it is a single fan edition from XFX

My motherboard just died... today

Obvious choice is obvious.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

My only 8gb of RAM. I use it up all time, some games crash because of running out of memory.

Seriously? I have 8gb of ram and I almost never use it all. do you run a crap ton of programs at once or something?

I hate that my inner enthusiast is bottlenecked by my budget. Sadly, I have to go with 1155 instead of 2011, because if I went with 2011 I would be forced to buy a rampage back edition, 4960x, and 64GB of dominator platinum. JUST so I could have an enthusiast rig.

Coil whine? I think? Idk, I've never dealt w/ it before. There is a whining noise when I move my mouse. And also, when I'm moving files, I can hear a whine through the speakers. Dumb, but it plays the crap out of my games.

If it can mean anything to anybody at any time, it means nothing.

The stock intel fan I'm using to cool my CPU.

And this garbage chair lol.

The fact that my R9 290 has yellow accents on the cooler, and ruins my colour scheme. May paint it, but I couldn't afford the paint. And no liquid cooling.

The whine coming through the speakers sounds like a sound card problem, might want to get that checked out

The fact that my Windows 7 Professional licence "isn't genuine". Constantly keeps asking to write the activation code, and the activation code I got with the Win 7 Pro doesn't work, so... Not gonna spend another 70€ (or more) just to get it work like it's supposed to.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

It's integrated into my mobo :(. Which is kinda old. It's an Asus Crosshair IV Formula AM3+ socket. I've been wanting to upgrade for a while. I'm happy with my old processor, but I can't upgrade and keep my Phenom II x6.

My Corsair HX1000 has blue decals on it which completely ruins my colour scheme! Fortunately I think I will swap from my CM HAF X to a NZXT H440 as it accomodates more radiators and then I can hide it!

lol my psu had green ones... just covered with electrical tape which happened to be the perfect color match, my pc is in a dark corner so you can't tell.

  • 5 months later...

We all have something we don't like or wish was different. Maybe something we should have done different.

What is yours?

For me it is my motherboard. I have a 4790k but I skimped on my motherboard and got a Maximus VI formula instead of a VII. It really bothers me some days and I am tempted to yank it and get a Z97 board.

What about you all?

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

I honestly wished I would've saved a bit more and gotten a 4690K + Z97 board. But I know I don't need it because my current rig handles BF4 (Most intensive game I own) perfectly fine.

I bought an APU when I already had a GPU... I should have saved up for an i5 or an FX6300.
