What’s the worst part of your rig?

MeltyMoon

I think I may have said this before but... My computer.. I hate my whole computer besides the GPU and SSD

Dell Precision 670.

- Intel Xeon 3.66Ghz x2

- 6 Gbs of ddr2 400Mhz

- 1 TB WD black,

- 120 GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD

- Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850

- 650W PSU

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

My case. It's a cheap, plain black box for <30€. It's got space only for one 120mm fan in the front and for two 80mm fans in the back, only 3 hard drives and no cable routing space in the back. The side panel's metal clips that keep the side panel intact tend to bend very easily.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

you sure that's the CPU causing that? Guild Wars 2 isn't supposed to kill your i5

I blame your 4 GB ram

Dude, that game is CPU intensive and i5 650 is dual core with hyper threading

My power supply. The fan sounds like a jet taking off when it starts up when I start running a game. Loudest part of my rig.

I know the CPU quite well, I'm just saying that your ram is a problem, when running the game check your cpu and ram usage.

try borrowing some ram from someone and test the difference.

For me, it would definitely have to be my storage solution. I'm running a 6 year old 750 GB sata 2 HDD. My PC takes about 12 minutes before I can do anything on it, and loading a map in any game takes about 3 minutes or so ;). To put this into perspective here's the rest of my rig:

FX 8350

HD 7950 1055/1525

MSI 990FX GD80V2

16 Gb G.Skill Sniper Ram @ 1600Mhz

Coolermaster Silent pro 1000w 80+Gold

CM Storm Sniper

So you guys have any embarrassing parts, or parts you wish you hate and could upgrade and replace in your rig?

Edit-

God I love thread revives ;)

you have such a kick ass pc, but can't spend 50$ on a 500gb HDD? :P Mine would be peripherals :)

I actually just upgraded to a 1tb wd black, and a samsung 840 for my os. So this thread doesn't necessarily apply to me anymore :P.

i hate my motherboard (desktop pc in sign). it holds my computer back because it only has pci 16x @4xxShadowxx speed and i cant overclock my cpu much. if i had a decent mobo i would be able to play most games at about 30 fps (with the lower graphical settings)
