Computer is not recognizing my Ethernet cable

Yana

Hello, I was playing video games and I had noticed that I started lagging, normally my ping would be 39-49. Only today my ping was AVG: 70 and would jump to 240. I went into networks and saw that I was not connected to my Ethernet. When I tried to join my Ethernet network it says " unidentified network - No internet access" I reset my PC, still nothing, I reset router, nothing, I plugged my Ethernet in and out, nothing. Any Ideas what I should do?

Does wifi work? The only thing I can imagine is that something is screwed up with the network/router itself

Have you checked for updated drivers?

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I have just checked my network adaptor in device manager and it says that the driver is already up to date.

first right click on the Ethernet logo on your toolbar and press troubleshoot problems see if that can fix it or give you any clue

Sorry for the late reply, I have done the trouble shooting for the ethernet, and it says Problems found - "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

And it doesnt say my network name anymore the the ethernet network. it says unidentified again

Do you know if your router is actual operational? For example, does WiFi work?

Try forcing a refresh of your DHCP IP Address. To do this, open Command Prompt. Then enter the following commands.

ipconfig /release

This releases your assigned IP address from use and notifies the router to clear its entry, marking it as available. Now enter this command:

ipconfig /renew

This essentially sends a request to the router to be assigned a new IP Address.

Hello, when i renewed it it said "windows ip configuration" after, i hope that normal.

I also ran the troubleshoot windows network diagostics again, and it still says "ethernet" doesnt have a valid ip configuration
