A wild GTX 1180 has been spotted on website H2Gaming.nv which appears to be a Vietnamese seller. Oh, big thanks to @Sauron for bringing this to my attention.

image.png.98e7149a39d7e1354fe5e8015ef17f61.png

Price roughly translates to 1523.38 United States Dollar which is fairly expensive. It also rocking GDDR6 from Micron.

Quote

Specs:

  • GPU: GT104
  • 3584 CUDA cores
  • Memory type: GDDR6 Micron - new architecture
  • Size: 16GB
  • Memory BUS: 256-bit
  • Memory Speed:  14.0 Gbps

And that is all we know of the card, details are fairly limited currently.

There is also a MSI on their website too.

Where you doing your currency conversion? The current Vietnamese Dong to USD exchange rate puts the "1180" at $1,521 not $1,300 xD

What's the current local price for a 1080 Ti?

A lot of places are really inflated prices because of low volume.

It's the 16GB model. I imagine this will be a tier above the 8GB model, and really, this is more than a huge percentage of gamers really need.

So it's not surprising that it's priced quite high. It's a niche market.

To me, 16 GB of GDDR6 memory is something which has baffled me ever since. Current generation memory pricing has risen significantly in 2018 and, while GDDR6 is not going to be as expensive or difficult to produce as HBM2, it’s a brand new memory technology and manufacturers aren’t going to just be giving it away.

Why would NVIDIA want to crush their margins by putting 16 GB of memory onto a gaming card that’s not really going to need that much for a long while? A GTX 1180 Ti maybe, but not a GTX 1180 or 1170.

So if I’m understanding this, if the memory bandwidth is anything to go off it may perform about a 1080ti?

Looks like a 1080 Ti with extra 5gb of a some faster VRAM... I wonder if this changes any thing, feels like Intel releasing the i7 7700K which was an overclockedd i7 6700K just to refresh the line up and do some new sells using the same stuff they have been selling already.

The higher prices certainly suggests it as well

Guys come on, I thought you were better than this.

Obvious photoshop is obvious.

Seriously this is so obviously photoshopped that it's sad.

Examples:

Side of box is obviously photoshopped (they didn't completely cover up the 0 that was there before).

Game sticker is horribly covered:

Lighting is funky on the second 1 on the front of the box:

The box is bent/torn in exactly the same way as the 1080 box:

And the best part, IT STILL SAYS 1080 ON TOP:

Spoiler

fake4.jpg.29a2193606cd409ea279e6b0bf64853f.jpg

And the description of the second card doesn't even mention a 1180:

When building  PC with this product , you get MSI VGA card, Palit, ASUS, Colorful BH 36 months ( GTX 1060 is 4.981.000d, GTX 1070 9981.000d, GTX 1070Ti strong near 1080 level 11,981,000d) GTX 1080 14.981.000d, GTX 1080Ti 18,981,000, the price may increase slightly depending on time)

Image differential for the first GPU:

That also revealed something I missed the first time: the VRAM amount on the side of the box is gone.

What this tell me and what Top Gear has shown during their trip to Vietnam, where they got 15 million dong each, and these are 2x at much, is that, you'll have a better chance at getting a motorbike than a GPU.

Small shrink (TSMC's 12nm FinFET) on a SM disabled die, with tweaks and far higher memory bandwidth would produce performance above the current 1080 TI.

That's roughly what we've been expecting for a year. The even faster GDDR6 will show up in the 1180 TI next year with the fully operational die.

You won't get a car, that's for sure.

I'd also recommend investing in a motorbike with a proper engine. Plus, don't be Clarkson.

Depends on how big of a text you auto translate it or just do a small segment.

Google translate doesn't always get it right depending on the sentence sequence
