Looking to upgrade an AMD FM2+ socket CPU

Actually, looking at your profile there's some stuff that can be reused. 16GB of DDR3 could be reused if you're willing to buy used parts on eBay. Look for a used 2600K3770K4770K , or 4790K and the Z77 or Z97 boards that go with them

I've been running an AMD a10-7700k for a few years now and it hasn't really given me any problems, I'm just looking for an upgrade. I don't want to buy a new motherboard so I'm looking for something that uses the FM2 or FM2+ socket type. I'm mainly playing csgo with a little bit of Photoshop and auto CAD mixed in. If I'm better off just buying a new motherboard to go with something more recent like a Ryzen CPU then I'm totally fine sticking with what I have, I'm just getting kinda tired of the constant 100% CPU usage.

There's nothing decent on that socket, buy Ryzen 3 instead

what is your budget? you really want to get off the fx plattform, they arent a great line of CPUs

I don't really have one, I can go with pretty much anything but the more I look into that lineup, the more I realize it's not really worth it, I'm just going to stick with my system until upgrading is a necessity.

Thanks for the list! I'm probably going to save up for an 2600x eventually and just merge it with my system.

One of my issues with going with Ryzen was trying to save my RAM! I'll look into these, thank you!

Honestly, I'd actually recommend the used i7 route over Ryzen because it's cheaper and provides similar or better gaming performance not to mention you get to reuse your RAM.

There you go, I just gave you an $800 build that'll outperform whatever you could build with Ryzen for $1200
