Did my PSU just die?

atavax

When i tried to turn my pc on today, nothing happened. I pressed the power button down and it started to turn on, but then off then on and off again like something that i might expect during a brownout. So i,flipped the psu switch off and I'm afraid to do any more testing and possibly damage other components. Also there was no blinking lights with the surge protector.

Sounds like it.  Do you have another PSU to test with?

Yea, I'd say so.

Like TheGlenlivet said, try it with another PSU if you can.

If the PC did not manage to boot properly and keeps turnin on and off... that might indeed be a PSU problem.

What power supply do you have?

Do you have another PSU that you can try?

I have a Silverstone 800w sfxl psu only 1 year old. Just picked up an extra psu from a friend.

I have a 2600k, so i think 7 and a half year old motherboard could be the culprit as well.
