If your hardware is hosed, it doesn't matter how good your code is. You can write all the secure code you want but if the hardware is going to leak the information anyway, there's little you can do about it.

 

If anything, it should be expected that user land apps are insecure and flawed. System apps and hardware should be able to mitigate or null issues stemming from them.
