To be completely honest, the first PC game I really played much was Just Cause 2 when I was 13. It impressed me that my paltry laptop could actually do that at its native resolution.

I think it was Dig Dug or some game similar (If you can count those arcade-type games). If not, then perhaps Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed.

Oh jeez, I had to be about... 4? Maybe younger... couldn't tell you what my very first pc game was but it was definitely some very kid specific stuff, nothing you'd have heard about. The first "big" pc game I fell in love with was Age of Empires 2, but I was 8 or so

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Oh shit, that's a tough question, I believe it was some flash game on the website gamefreak(I hope I'm remembering the name correctly) as for what game blew my mind, it was skyrim, I had it for the xbox for a while, I finally got it for the PC and I was like, holy shit this looks so great. Now there are 2 things to keep note of, 1 skyrim had been out for a few years and the settings were at the lowest and 720p

Ummmmmm...disregarding miniclip games, probably need for speed most wanted, back when I was 6 years old. Its still one of my favourites. My desktop ran it at <30fps but hey, back then, whether it ran 20fps or 40fps, it made no difference and I know this as a fact as when I got 'my' laptop in 2008, it ran NFSMW at 60fps~ and I didn't notice a difference at all xD

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

If you count Tanks (the flash web game) probably when I was like 7. Idk really, whenever we got access to the IT room with Pentium 4s and CRTs. . Primary School seems like a long time ago.

In a mall Radio Shack they had a very rudimentary baseball game on display running on a Tandy.  My mom knew if she parked me there she’d have all the time to get her shopping done

First PC game was some trash DOS game that I don't even remember.

But first actual game that I got into, Starcraft. I was around 10 or 11 years old.

I actually learned English by playing Starcraft online.

Then I got into anime in 2004 and it's all downhill from there.

First PC game was probably Space Cadet Pinballscreenshot_pc_3d_pinball_space_cadet001.jpg.561418f81d980e87c7a87c1942fa140c.jpg

First game that blew me away in terms of realism was Battlefield 3, as the most graphically impressive game I had played up to then was Halo 2, I had just got a PS3 and the BF3 beta came out and it really blew my mind.

I was 3 or 4 and the windows 95 my parents bought came with a painting game and a bunch of pictures you would fill in or magic brush to make it perfect. If glorified paint doesn't count then I'm pretty sure it was one of the Carmen Sandiegos

Owen's Transport Tycoon Deluxe, when I was 5 or 6, on my dad's Pentium III Windows XP machine. I would absolutely dominate that game. The soundtrack is still my favourite game soundtrack ever.

-snip-

Space Cadet Pinball was the $#!1.

After that, I played Lego Universe for some time and then moved on the Cave Story. For a few years I played a small handful of games on Kongregate, ranging from tower defence to a Zelda-like game called Hero's Arms(I still go play that out of nostalgia sometimes). I also played N quite a bit, and another similar game called Skullface.

The first game that really sucked me in after Lego Universe was probably Minecraft.

Mmm, hard to say because I have a few firsts. Space Cadet is obviously one of them but I don't want to consider it. There was a Toy Story and Lego island game I remember playing, but they never had the impact any console games really had on me. I only remember them existing and I played them, but I don't remember anything about them.

The first game I can confidently say I played on PC was Halo: Combat Evolved in 2009, I was 13 at the time and have been grinding competitive first person shooters since.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Age of Empires, the first (and best) one. In roughly 1999. It was 1$ / week at a local library, rented it for months. A bargain compared to the contemporary retail price; games were roughly 70-80$ back then. Ended up having a warez copy due to someone rich enough to have a CD burner, until I got the AoE 1&2 collector edition much later.

Counter Strike 1.3 when I was 8 and I also remember my mom bought me some magazines that came with free "booter" games or game demos for DOS, Infidel was my favourite and spent a lot of hours on it despite it was just a text game... and Frogger was also cool, I'm sure those disks are still around here somewhere xD

Would have been under 5 at the time. First was probably some MS-DOS game in the early 90s, basically looked like the old school Mario where you had to jump barrels and climb ladders. Tetris or some clone also on MS-DOS.

Also remember playing games like Hugos House of Horrors.

Was fun as a kid, but it wasn't really until the Gameboy/N64 era that I started playing games on a regular basis. Late 90s was console territory for me though with N64 and PS1 - games like Goldeneye, THPS2, Gran Turismo, Zelda, Super Smash Bros, and so on. Would still play PC games though, like AOE, Sims, Sim City, Worms, etc. I vaguely remember some mac game where you were a dinosaur with a jetpack that all the kids used to play at lunch on the library computers, but I can't remember what it was called.
