Tek Syndicate pretty much ded

Anyone remembers all the drama from Tek Syndicate a while back? I'm no longer subscribed but for some reason Youtube decided to autoplay one of their videos for me, and after taking a look around in their channel I realized it's pretty much gone to shit. Only one of their videos from the past month or so is above 10k views, most at are under 5k. This is for a channel with nearly 600k subs. Meanwhile Level1Techs getting well over twice that viewership with one third as many subs. 

 

I don't believe in Karma, but there's something satisfying about assholes getting hit with all the shit they like to dump on the world.

they died when their best talent left. I only ever watched the channel for Wendell and him moving to level 1 techs was amazing.

I didn't mind Logan, but he didn't have anywhere near the technical knowledge that Wendell had.

I didn't mind him either till he tried to rip off the other people putting their time and effort into the channel.

Wendell had all knowledge and a background, where as most others where more personalities then people with knowledge, they could host pretty well but that was it.

Yeah I stopped watching a couple years ago. I watch level1 though. Makes me miss Linus being in the house and the old WAN show

Wendell took a few of Tek Syndicate's secondary channels like the linux and server channels, which were mostly run by him anyway, as well as the forum and started "Level1Techs" with two friends and colleagues of his. Logan kept the main channel and the gaming channel (not sure if there were others) and changed the name to "critTV" (although apparently the name of the channel is still Tek Syndicate, or at least it was changed back since). L1T on the other hand is growing and I think they make some of the best tech content on youtube.

Maybe so but as far as I can remember this was barely if ever used in actual videos, he only contributed occasional comments and general explanations instead of making in depth videos about specific technologies - which is fine, but a different kind of content from what Wendell does.

Qain was about as ignorant as Logan.

He didn't know the first thing about networking from what I could tell, and according to some people his "years of experience in networking" was just first line technical support for some ISP.

He didn't even know basic things like 5GHz being worse at penetrating objects compared to 2.4GHz. Not to mention his complete lack of understanding about how routing works.

Wendell was the only reason I even watched Teksyndicate. Logan's personality is just toxic, he hates everyone who isn't sucking up to him and especially hates being called out as unprofessional for things he and his "co-hosts" does.

I'm glad they broke up, at least we don't have to endure Logan's crap when all we wanted was Wendell.

I only watch LTT and sometimes JayZ 2 cents. Other than that, I know enough about the basics of the Pc hobby that I don’t really need to know much else. 

That and Green Ham Gaming hasn’t uploaded in like 8 months.

Well he was part of the secret sauce that made it all work. The three of them together made for a very watchable and great video, but apart it's not so great. Like the three musketeers but with more tech and not so great.

To be completely honest, I don't watch tech channels as much as I used to. Stopped watching Tek a long time ago before Wendell left. Not that big into Jay since it's mostly overkill rigs and I prefer something more approachable. More active on LTT forums than keeping track of the videos these days. Only tech Youtuber I still watch more frequently is Kyle and Steve off GamersNexus if I want an in depth tech review.

Yep, I was enjoying the level1 stuff until Wendell started mouthing off about how Australia's internet was this that and the other thing.  He was so far for the truth it wasn't funny, I could have let it go except he was so self assured he knew what he was talking about it I haven't watched it since.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
