Intel CEO resigns after consensual relationship with employee following investigation from Board

CEOs (really anyone) being forced to resign because of a consensual relationship over fears of one of them crying sexual harrasment or "preferential treatment".

This totally seems like a healthy society, I don't see a problem here at all

Edit: If they were cheating on their partners with each other then fuck it, I subjectively believe those types of people are scum of the earth
Edit 2: Wikipedia says he is married, also looks like the relationship took place in the past. Guessing someone told the board out of spite or anger. RIP

i speculate this was probably just an excuse to get rid of him, as intel right now is on a really bad path,

he also sold most of his stocks a few months ago just before one of the flaws became public

Spoiler: they don't. The board of directors do to keep stakeholders happy

That really depends on who has the most shares so not always the case. If a CEO has a majority stake he will have more power over company directions.

I don't know what you guys experienced last time you had consensual sex, maybe I'm doing it wrong,  but I actually enjoyed it and keep going back for more. If Buying an Intel product is as orgasmic as consensual sex,  than so long AMD,you've been a nice option but why use my imagination when the real thing is on the table.

There are reasons to prevent relationships and I agree to them. What if she is married? I assume Brian is married too, I don't know for sure but he should stay with his wife or divorce and marry this woman. I feel bad for Brain's wife and the worker's husband. Both are nothing but cheating cunts.

Why would it matter if he or she or him where married?  you do not get to decide when consensual sex is valid/immoral.  There are issues here well outside the concept of consensual.

Incorrect. The board always has the power to fire the CEO and the investors/stakeholders can tell the board of directors to do whatever they like.

If the CEO had more authority than the board, that would be a massive conflict of interest

being such a big company, it's likely that someone knew (either friends of the CEO or coworkers of the subordinate) and then rumors spread/people started talking.

I dont get why this is frowned upon. It two people in a work place turn out to be great together, who the fuck cares. Let them be happy.

I have seen two people in a relationship at work fight and that can be awkward for sure. But that is an outlier

It's more than just a relationship or awkwardness. He's the CEO, so if the girl gets promoted, did she actually earn it or did he abuse his powers on her favor? It's the type of stuff that you don't want.

The relationship could be real and meaningful, but when the perception could be favoritism in her favor, that's where thia becomes an issue. It's unfortunate.

The last place I worked had 3000 employees. There were plenty of couples. When someone got favoritism it was very obvious and could be delt with. Usually one person in the relationship would not be promoted because everyone would blame it on that.

I get the concerns but there are ways of dealing with it professionally. Ive seen it work multiple times....but like I said earlier it can get awkward when they are fighting

HR controls the process for promotion and whether you get promoted, also usually it the duty of your direct supervisor to put you up for promotion and justifies it to HR if it's cuz "CEO says so" that doesn't cut it, unless you're becoming an executive then that is handled by the Board in many cases.

If the CEO directly intervenes in something like that it will most likely set off red flags on spur an investigation of misconduct especially in publicly traded companies. Unless she directly reported to Brian his power isn't a great of people ITT think.

This was just mostly likely an excuse get rid of him any way

Stock instantaneously went down by 3% because of the ceo leaving the company, that's what was amusing to me. No need to be defensive dude, lol.

Its much easier on the stock value to dismiss him over this and not the multiple serious security flaws that are cropping up.

Not silly.

Even though it was consensual, she might've felt pressured into doing it because she wanted a raise for example, and there's really no way of knowing if it's 100% consensual or if the secretary felt like she was encouraged to do it by other factors.

couldn't be any more faster than this into being a mgtow.

if you're really taking this FAKE NEWS at face value then you're either stupid or ignorant. a CEO with THAT MUCH salary means he can buy the hottest and youngest call girl out there and not this no-name fat and fugly female employee. what's really happening here is that since there's no real consequences of SAYING she's harassed (protected by free speech), she's banking on the possibility of getting that high paying job position being a CEO. and it works all the time!

now, if she's ACTUALLY harassed and raped and like that, then where's the police report? oh, she can't, because there's no REAL victim going around here. filing a police report can get you sued for wasting police time and money, meaning she can be jailed for filing a false report.

it's the same thing everywhere. Stan Lee, my childhood "hero" back in the glory days of Marvel, was also sued of harassment WITHOUT a police report. By who? of course, these feminist nurse cunts tending to him in his old age. it's literally everywhere and this is the cold war happening on men by these predator females.

and because women are the majority of voters, they will vote themselves more welfare at the expense of men's money. you have to take women's rights away. I'm not asking for permission to take their rights, I'm saying TAKE THEIR RIGHTS AWAY.

Where did anyone say that she was harassed?  The whole point is that he resigned because of a consensual relationship.

Whatever you're on, you need to lay off of it for a while.

so it doesn't have to be harassment. men can be fired even on a consensual relationship, huh? and you don't see how this is actually far worse?

I'll bet money, effing money, that this CEO will be replaced by a diversity quota hire aka a waman with no skills. because muh diversity is our stwength or something.
