First ever build :D

Alright so i'm a 14 year old boyo who is Asian (totally irrelevant sorry) who has owned a prebuilt from IBP from 2015 until now that consists of a i5-4460 as well as a 750 Ti (that i gave to my friend and my pc currently has a 1080 in it for my next build coming up soon) as well as 8 gigs of DDR3 ram ;-;. For my birthday i'm being spoiled and getting parts for my first ever build as my birthday present this year. I've been researching for about 6-7 months now while I was in school and I'm pretty sure I managed to learn most if not all the basics and then some. I just wanted to see what you guys thought and maybe could give me tips or advice that I might not know or might forget while building.

Here is my PCPartPicker list:

Check it out c:

Cool build indeed but do you need a MoBo this expensive. I would rather get a 150 ish board and buy a bigger HDD (like 3TB).

I don't really need a 3tb HDD because I don't really do any sort of work that needs that much storage :P

Oh I forgot to mention that I will be upgrading to a 144hz 1440p monitor in the next year or so and I do plan to keep this CPU for as long as I can.

That AIO is overpriced tbh the evga clc is 100$ and performs just as good. i would get a cheaper mobo maybe from ASUS?

Would leave plenty of room for an overclocked 1080 Ti, assuming it's a good PSU

I really can't decide if I should either go for a 360 or 280 as the case I'm goin for supports 360 and since a 280 wouldn't fill up the space but I'm sure my OCD will forget in the long run. As for the mobo I think i'll be fine with this one or I might switch it to an extreme4 or something. I'll probably try to delid the 8700k in the future depending on my nerves as well as try to use the G12 from NZXT :P

Ive heard the G12 can go wrong pretty easily so be careful with that :). Why Asrock as a mobo btw why not a ASUS as they can tend to overclock better. 360 would look better btw

I would change that SSD to a PCIe m.2 SSD from Samsung.

Also, get the NZXT Kraken x62 if you can. I personally would go air cooled but it's all about preferences :D

Maybe opt for a 2TB WD Blue HDD instead.

Also, noctua fans perform much better.

If you can pay for the best (Asrock Taichi versus Asus Maximus for example), then yes. Their mid range stuff overclock just as well, more of a battle between features like expansion slots and connectivity.

Mushkin NVMe SSDs are way cheaper for only a slight reduction in performance
