Cheap Android Tablet

Recently, my Kindle Fire HD 10's charging port has become very loose and will make it very difficult to charge and use the device. So, I am looking for cheap tablet options (150-200 USD) that will be good for watching YouTube, browsing the web, and other light tasks. I would like it to have the Google play store instead of the Amazon app store. I have found the Samsung Galaxy Tab A as an option so far, but are wonder what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Lenovo Tab3 10 Plus TB3-X70F for example, or

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 T580.

 

Both for 140-160€~ here in germany, should be similar in dollar.

 

Tbh, i would not buy ANYTHING below that, aka below 1920x1080 (or 1920x1200).

1280x768 Resoultion? Garbage, Ignore that.

Galaxy Tab E 9.6 is utterly Garbage. Only almost unuseable 8gb Storage, 1,5gb Ram, combined with an ultra low performance entry SoC (19,x k Antutu v6) from 3 1/2 Years ago (and the Tablet is now 3 years old, has a very outdated Android version, and costs way too much. Here in germany 120 bucks, while a MUCH better Tab3 10 Plus or Galaxy Tab A 10.1 T580 costs 50 bucks more.

I can not explain how anyone could seriously recommend this Crap... Maybe if you get it for less than 50-60 bucks, that's fine maybe.. But even then... i would rather save 1-2 more months. A new Fire HD 8 2017 would be a better Choice for 30 bucks less.

 

Lenovo4 Tab10 is by FAR better, if we talk about the TB-X304F.

2gb Ram, 16gb Storage, SoC has almost double the speed (36k Antutu V6), Android 7.0 instead 4.4.4.

 

Btw: If you just look 1 single time on the specs and maybe Google some stuff like the SoC performance for 10 seconds, you can already see which is better.... Sometimes it's better not to recommend anything, if you yourself don't know anything about the Tablet market..

 

The Tab3 10 Plus i mentioned above would be better. Slightly older, but better Specs and MUCH sharper Display (1920x1200), but however slightly slower (and older) SoC. But the Display is the main Argument.

 

But i would rather get a Samsung Tab A 10.1 T580.

32gb Storage, 2gb Ram, stronger SoC (8 Core instead 4, and 45k Antutu Points)

 

Either you have money for those cheap 1080p Models, or you save untill you do. You will not win anything by "saving" money, in the end you will probably sell and buy a better one.

But i would not buy <1080p anymore at all, except you really want something REALLY cheap (<100 bucks), and you can absolutely NOT save up another 50 bucks. ^^

Tab4 10 (800p) goes for 179 usd.

Tab 3 10 Plus (1080p) goes for 255 usd (why is it so much more expensive there >.< )

Galaxy Tab E (800p, old... )

So, why go that route.. iOS is far superior than Android on a Tablet. The OS itself is much better optimized for the format, there are many more Apps, optimized for Tablets and with better Quality.

The iPad 2017 is still not very Old, and the A9 Chip is still very powerfull (by FAR more powerfull than any SoC of those Android Tablets above ( 128k Antutu V6 points. On geekbench 3 it managed 2500 single-Core points, and 5000 multicore points. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab E has an entry level SoC with like 340 single Core points, and 1000+ multicore points~ ).

The iPad will get Softare updates for far longer, even the next few Years you will be up to date - and iOS 12 this fall will increase the performance of older devices by a good margin, while those 4 Android Tablets will probably not see Android 8.0/8.1 oreo, which launched.... 10 Months ago. Maybe with luck (up 2 date OS can mean better security".

 

Because of the higher Performance, and longer Updates, it will be relevant / useable for far longer. No problem to use this is a basic video/music/browsing device for the next 5-6 years. 

 

So yea.. You do break your Budget by like 40%, but i think the Product is more than 40% better --> better bang for buck

I've been looking at the Huawei MediaPads and Lenovo Tabs for myself but I can't see the cheaper ones lasting long so upped my budget by £50 to consider the M3 Lite and 4 Plus. But... a one year old refurb iPad is the same price... I would like to stay with Android like my phone but it does make a lot of sense to get the iPad with a far superior screen, updates for a few years etc. 

 

I've not had a tablet before but I'm starting to see that if you just browse the internet you should get an Amazon Fire. Anything more and a cheap iPad of some sort is the best since all the Androids are in this weird lower mid-tier with aging processors and sub-par screens.

Also did you try installing APKpure on the current device? It might solve your app issues.
