Laptop for School & Design - Under $1000

Hi! So, I have a friend here from Germany that would like to take advantage of American prices on electronics. She needs a laptop that has:

 

1. A decent graphics card (does not have to be anything fancy).

2. A decently powerful processor for things like Photoshop/Lightroom/Illustrator.

3. An SSD for faster boot-times (OS), can also have a hard drive for storage.

4. A weight that isn't too heavy/bulky, but does not need to be razor thin.

5. A decently color-accurate display.

6. Speed!

 

I know my stuff when it comes to PC's, but I do not know much about laptop processors/graphics. If I could get some help/suggestions it would be much appreciated! Thanks

Minimum MX150 sounds good. In fact, it doesn't need to be much more than that. As for weight, probably nothing more than around 5 pounds (Is that asking a lot? Not sure). She just needs the laptop to be speedy so she can get daily tasks done without any lag.

Sorry if that's a bit off topic, but is she fine with using qwerty instead of qwertz? German has äccentüated letters and ßizarre symbols, which might make her regret her purchase if she hasn't thought about it beforehand.
