HELP! PC TEMPS!

Hi there guys about two months ago I was having issues with my 980 Ti getting really hot with the acx 2.0 cooler is came with so i decided to change the thermal paste but since I was stripping it down I decided to pick up a arctic accelero xtreme iii and installed it with much better temps however now two months down the road my 980 Ti is hitting almost the same temps as with acx 2.0 and I just dont know what do to as the way i see it either the card is buggered or it is eating through and drying thermal paste like nobodys buisness.

 

Things I have tried:

Tightening the screws that hold the cooler to the core (this has come loose before and caused issues after moving it around which I have done recently)

Well, I changed thermal paste and cooler and the temps are right back where they were only two months later.

Hi Guys,

recently I have been having problems with temps in my pc. I have worked out the CPU/CPU cooler are to blame as the GPU is only getting hot because of the heat the CPU is pumping out. So my 5930K is idling around 45 degrees Celcius on the package with between 35 and 37 core temps at idle while I have a fan the blows onto my desk with my rooms windows open! Then when I am playing battlefield 1 my cpu is reaching 57 degrees celcius package and 50 to 54 on cores which then the rad on my X62 pumps into my case which is making my GPU hot which really shows seeing as it has an arctic accelero xtreme iii on it. My GPU is hitting 80 to 81 degrees because of all the heat from the CPU!

Other Info:

Cooler - NZXT Kraken X62

Installed on 21st December 2016

Thermal Paste never changed

CPU not OCed - because of this issue

 

 

What I have tried:

Dedusting case

Making sure pump is secured properly on CPU

Making sure fans are working properly on rad

Tried cooling down my room as much as possible.

Raised a ticket with NZXT for potential issues with cooler - haven't had a response yet.

Try moving your radiator to the top of your case if possible. If that doesn't help try reseating your GPU cooler. If that doesn't work i don't know.

To be honest, these temperatures are not really alarmingly high.

You could start by repasting new thermal compound. Noctua NT-H1, Arctic Silver 5 or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut are all solid choices when it comes down to thermal pastes.

At a minimum, replace the thermal paste and position the rad to be blowing the hot air out of the case.

Those temps are fine to me, you can always replace the thermal paste if you feel concerned about it thoug.

a 980 Ti with an arctic accelero xtreme iii should not hit 80 degrees C and the arctic accelero xtreme iii was only fitted a few months ago so the thermal paste cant dry there but will probs repaste the CPU

Actually, a GTX 980TI, regardless of cooler, can hit 80 degrees quite easily. Don't worry, that's normal under heavy load. Maxwell ran hot. If you fell it's a big issue, you could look into water-cooling. It's quite expensive, but it's worth it in the long run, in my opinion.

the cpu temps are fine, the gpu temps are too high, the problem is with the gpu not the cpu.

Those temps are not bad at all. If they concern you, you might invest in watercooling the gpu. Checkout the NZXT Kraken. It'll fit most water coolers.

 

Additionally, you might make sure you are using Static Pressure fans on your Rad especially and anywhere where airflow might be hampered by a hard drive cage or something like that.

But this video says otherwise this cooler is supposed to be great for the 980 Ti.

I am also getting higher temps in battlefield 1 than intel burn test on high for 5 runs!

How are your case fans set up and what rpm are they running at?

Sounds like a case issue. Also a problem with open air coolers if you lack airflow. No reference blower card would run that hot.
