Why dont I have a gigabit option?

@Lurick@williamcll i fixed it

apparently, you can force gigabit from bios. while the machine was running i just unplug and plug back in the cable it works. I also tested it with a file transfer from my pc to confirm and it does. but it boots up at 100mbps. 15 cables latter i finally found one that boots just fine with gigabit but i cant understand. they work just fine on other computers and they dont work only on boot. if you disconnect and reconnect them they are just fine

So I recently build an unraid server. It works just fine but I just noticed the network speed was set to 100mbps rather than gigabit. I went to bios to change it to gigabit but i only get 100 as the best option.

Btw i swapped the cable with the cable that i use on my pc that i know it works gigabit and it still does work. It is also connected to a gigabit switch (the with my pc so I know it works just fine)

Shouldn't be drivers since I can't run it from the bios too.

The screenshot is from the bios

That's odd. Not sure why the BIOS would even let you set the speed there but *shrug*

I guess the next question is the BIOS up to date?

@Lurickdecided to switch back to the old cable and it works just fine. this is strange...

That is very peculiar. Sounds like something just didn't want to work right the first time.

@Lurickit works fine but now i have problems with wake on lan

i enabled the 2 options from the bios (wol from the network card settings and i also enable wake from pci devices)

at first it worked just fine. now it works only sometimes rarely.

btw the light on the network card is blinking when the server is off so it should be working
