New rx 580 dead?

Hello,

Bought a rx 580 4gb sapphire pulse as a upgrade (750ti)

Bought brand new from Amazon

Swapped cards installed drivers

Tried to run the division benchmark and my pc crashed...after restart there is artifacts on the screen ...

Is my cars dead ?

did you DDU drivers?

If the other card worked fine then yes I would send it back, otherwise it may be the pci slot

Yep, it is.

And THAT is what the Warranty is for.


Because of the difficulty of the manufacturing process there can be some cards that don't show any issues within the factory but have some minor mistakes, either bad etched traces or bad soldering joints because of bad moonshine or something else could either get loose or die within a couple of hours.

 

That is totally normal and nothing to worry about. It just sucks to be the one withthe "Monday's Component".

 

So just contact Amazon and ask for a replacement. That shouldn't be an issue. Every dealer should suspect a couple of "dead on arrival" components...
