WiFi 802.11ac (2x2), Bluetooth 4.1 does it support bluetooth audio codes like Ldac and APTx

Go to solution Solved by Timotheus2,

For normal bluetooth the codec has to be supported by the driver, not the adapter itself. Support is rather difficult, since both are proprietary codecs. Everything supports standard SBC (shit quality).

Windows 10 (1803) supports aptX, but not yet LDAC.

Android supports LDAC (since Oreo) and sometimes aptX

iOS supports only aac.

macOS supports aac and aptX

Linux supports none.

There are specific bluetooth adapters that do the audio encoding in hardware. As far as i know they only support up to aptX.

So i couldn't find any information about the audio codecs it supports

It would be a shame if it wouldn't support Ldac because I just bough the Sony Wh-1000Mx2 for about 185€ normal about 300€ or above so i'm really happy about it

Aptx is fine too
