1080ti or wait for 11/20s

ChickenMean

Hi everyone,

I currently have a gtx 980, 32gb ddr4, and an i7 6900k (along with other parts.. duh).

My 980 is getting slow, and I found a used gtx 1080ti for $550.

My question: do I jump on this deal or wait for the possibility of new cards

New cards won't be out for atleast a couple of months, so if you cant be bothered waiting that long, just get the 1080ti now.

If you don't mind waiting a few months though, it'll be worth waiting for. But bare in mind the 1180ti(or whatever tf they'll call it) most likely won't be available on launch, it will be atleast 6 months after launch before that's available assuming they follow previous trends.

Amd is releasing rx600 series this year and I doubt nvidia will let that slide

Some people talk just to talk... Atleast give it till July 30th when the rumoured announcement is suppose to happen. If nothing then I'm not sure what I'll do. I can't phathem spending 700 on something now and they announce it in July for the price or close to a 1080ti now

I'd probably stick with what you've got based on the fact that I'd be happy with the performance until the 11xx series hits, if you hate the card you've got now then upgrade, although I'd be weary of second hand cards because of the warranty issue, if it's EVGA then the warranty transfers to you though, if the original owner has registered it with proof of purchase.

Solid advice.

The people telling you 1080ti don't even have one themselves lol I'd give it a month and see. Your cards decent now.... Say you buy that for 550 then they're announced in July like rumors say? Released Aug or Sept how would you feel?
