Cream of the crop Asus PQ279Q?

Afternoon all,

 

I'm torn whether to get this monitor or not, it's got all the bells and whistles but I've heard quality control is abysmal.

 

Seen loads of pictures of bad back light bleeds and for it's price I'm not sure its worth the risk.

 

I know the Acer and AOC have the samish panel in their models but like the navigation on the ASUS and the stand.

 

My question to the community is, is £600 justified for the monitor.

 

I've a 1080ti, i7740X setup, play RTS ultra settings, Diablo 3, Heroes, Warframe and PUBG shooters now and again, I do no graphics design or image workloads.

 

Bare in mind I'm moving from a 1080p LG 7 year old monitor so open to suggestions of alternatives or if i even need IPS, Gsync, 144hz.
