Intel Optane Memory and SATA NVMe SSD Problem

I am having a similar problem to the one internist86 was having with his M.2 SSD. I am running into the issue where the optane application says "no compatible disks for optane memory". Has anyone seen this issue with an SSD Sata drive and optane?

 

my setup:
Motherboard:Gigabyte Aorus Ultra gaming 2.0 Z370
RAM: Ballistix 16GB (2x8)
Processor: Intel Core i7-8700k
SSD: WD Blue SSD 1TB
Optane M.2 32GB

I thought optane only can cache sata drives?

I believe this is correct. SATA SSD or spinners.
