USB 3.1 Gen 2 header addon card

Hi,

I'm getting a new case with a front USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C port, but my motherboard only has Gen 1 headers. Does anyone know of any PCIe addon cards that provide Gen 2 (20 pin) headers?

Alternatively, I found this Gen 1 header addon, that suggests it adheres to the Gen 2 spec. Could I use that with something like this adaptor? Would this still allow Gen 2 speeds (10 Gbps), or bottleneck it at Gen 1 speeds (5 Gbps)?

Thanks

The addon card would work. The adapter would bottleneck you to 3.0/3.1 gen 1 speeds

A gen 1 header provides bandwidth for 2 USB ports. A gen 2 header only does 1 USB port. Would it not just aggregate the bandwidth and eliminate the bottleneck?
