is 240hz worth it

i was wondering if it is worth it to have a 240hz tn monitor or a 144hz  its a 100 bucks differences but also i am maybe a 144 hz 1440p monitor what is 100 bucks more than 240hz one  

240hz tn 311 dollar

144hz tn 1080 208 dollar

144hz  ips 1440p 497 dollar

is the 144hz monitor IPS? If it is IPS then get the 144Hz IPS monitor

144Hz IPS is what i would call as balanced

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

 

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

If your system is not able to provide your monitor with 240 images per second, then it is not worth it.

This will obviously depend on your computer itself (GPU, CPU etc.) but also on the specific games you intend to play.

The differnce between 240hz and 144hz isn't noticeable to our eyes.

 

But the difference from 60hz and 144hz, is huge.

get the 144Hz then, it saves you $100 bucks and you get better colours than TN and wider viewing angles

Go for the 144 Hz IPS.

Having an IPS panel compared to a TN panel is much more valuable than having a 240 Hz compared to 144 Hz (if you can't run the former anyways).

Good TN panels (most 1440p144 TN panels) have equivalent colour to a mid-range IPS. No need to be shy of TN

It is certainly noticeable for the trained eye, but there is not a difference as great as going from 60 to 120Hz.
