Chosing a cooler for ASUS-H87-PLUS

Dear LTT community,

i am planning to upgrade my system and im looking for an aircooler wich fits on the Asus h87-plus. I currently use the Alpenfön Sella wich leaves about 5mm space to my current memory. I am looking for the biggest possible cooler since i want to overclock it to some degree, AIO are an option as well, but i dont belive in them since of their lamda and cp values. It should be around 50€ and i would even consider a aion if its gonna be better since this AIO from cooler master is currently very cheap. Case recommendations would be nice as well..

Specs:

Asus 87 plus

I5-4690k

Gpu: currently r9 290 (soon will be upgradet to 1080ti or 1180)

psu: 750w be quiet

ssd: 4

hdd 1

Ram: 2x 8gb

Thanks for all your comments already.

I use the be quiet cooler on my 4670k, which is the same as your 4690k, but 100MHz slower. I got an overclock of 4.4 at 72c.

What is the case, and how tall are the memory? If space is not an issue the Scythe Fuma is the best.

Since im planning to get a new case anyways ( recommendations wanted) it does not matter. The ram is 3,14cm high. The scyte looks good actually and the price is actually cheap.

What case do you currently have and why do you want to replace it?

I'm pretty sure you can't overclock with a H87 chipset, you need a Z87/Z97 one.

Edit: Nvm yours is an Asus one which is one of the exceptions. I have the same CPU with a Hyper 212 Evo and I'm easily getting 4.2GHz with 1.25v.

First of all thanks, i have the sharkoon bulldozer b28, but i already ordered the Fractal meshify case. Also the best possible cooler is indeed an AIO, since i got the Coolermaster 240 lite for even 40€.

Well i just looked into my current setup and the Alpenfön Sellar is pretty familiar to the evo running on full load only on 50°C max and clocked to 4,3ghz, not overclocked but within the intel turbo mode. The aio like earlier mentioned was so cheap that i could not resist it was 40€ on an special offer.
