CPU running at 3.6GHZ on bios.Windows says 3.4GHZ

Any idea why does this happen to my I5 4570? On windows i get image.png.6eb85d8a589eb51b9b52469ccf3e6995.png

On my bios multiplier is 36.Throttle stop says its 34.Hm

That's because Intel's a dick on how it advertises the turbo boost, the real all cores turbo boost of your CPU is indeed 3.4ghz, the 3.6ghz is the 1 core only turbo boost but not like you can only use 1 core nowadays... even if you run cinebench single thread benchmark other cores/threads will be busy with Windows and any other background deal going on.

ThrottleStop is showing the multiplier of the CPU in real-time. The value can go up or down depending on how busy the processor is, among other things according to the turbo boost schedule.

What can i do about it?

What do you mean? your CPU is behaving as it is supposed to, you don't do any thing about it... if you need more CPU horsepower upgrade it.

You might have a few boost bins to play with - depending on motherboard though I think.

See if you can change the multiplier. Try 40x for cores 1 and 2. 38x for core 3 and 36x for core 4.

Don't bother touching the BCLK. Keep it at 100MHz. Lets try and make life easy.

Nop.I can change the multiplier but it will lock on

CORE 1 36

CORE 2 36

CORE 3 35

CORE 4 36

I also chose HIGH BCLK MODE

All high BCLK mode does is allow you better stability when running a higher BCLK. I wouldn't really bother with BCLK since it messes with PCI-E clock which some GPUs won't like. Plus you'll have to figure out which memory divider will play ball with 105MHz or whatever the maximum BCLK you can POST with is.

Also are you sure that the core 3 ratio is set correctly? Also try and change the multiplier for each individual core. You should be able to do that.

@DildorTheDecent Wont work. It wont let  me enter 36.What should i choose on the "FIVR" Negative or positive?

Sounds odd. What motherboard you got? It could be locked in some way.

Just leave the FIVR alone. More switching frequency = more heat (but better VRM performance) and heat is bad enough as it is on Haswell. There's a reason why FIVR was removed lol.

@DildorTheDecent Managed 3.6GHZ on 2 cores. I am using a Z97 ANNIVERSARY from Asrock

3.6GHz on two cores is the stock Intel Turbo Boost config.

Maybe Intel did abandon the boost bin thing with Haswell.

You can try using BCLK if you want but you might have to figure out which RAM divider will work best.

mmm you shouldnt oc that?

And dont blame my beloved haswell for that :( I bought 2 years ago my computer 4790k+1070 and that cpu omg  such a monster , nothing to envy to a newer one, 4,4 from factory turbo boost , 4,5 with less power (from 1,15 to 1,25) and 33ºc on idle 55º full load? (nhd15) enough room to have fun and try how close to 5ghz it can be :P

Some RAM dividers will not POST when the BCLK is changed because they either prefer it to be set to 100MHz or the RAM kit is too garbage to handle it. Although this was more of an issue with Haswell-E and DDR4 3000MHz memory.

Depending on how well your RAM kit can deal with OC is another thing too. With the 18.66 divider and a 100MHz BCLK you get = 1866MHz. With a 105MHz BCLK clock is increased to = 1959MHz. That, even with the "recommended" max of 1.65V on DDR3 could cause some kits to not make it past POST. Most of the time though it's down to user error so it's not really an issue.

---

You can, of course, make life easier and get a 4790K (or a 4690K but I wouldn't) and OC it the easy way. Get yourself a 'nam chip and pump the multiplier.
