what do you think the next future monitor displays tech will be

saif96

we've seen the new 144hz, HDR, 4K, 4ms monitors what do you think the next would be?

my guess is the next would be to eliminate the ms calling it instaMS because there would be 0sec respond times on display the closes we got right now is MSI's 0.5ms

the second i think would to eliminate Hz on monitor, you get to only see difference with 500, 1000 or more fps and the Hz wouldn't matter anymore it will always be smooth as possible

the third would improving HDR by alot making black even more black giving us more colores

fourth 8k could be a thing in the future but in my opinion that sort of resolution shouldn't implemented anytime soon since we're already having a hard time with 4k, maybe in 10 years or so, or who knows maybe we would use a different type of screen that replaces pixels with something else that makes resolution the thing of the past

what other tech do you think would be the future that isn't mentioned?

OLED or Super High Density MicroLED

Both far superior to current IPS/VA/TN panel displays.

Response time would still be a thing for MicroLED, but for OLED it would be less of an issue.

The primary thing that needs overcoming for display tech to advance enough to give a significant improvment over current displays, is manufacturer greed.

There is already enough tech available to create insanely good displays. All the following are ether already available individualy, or capable of being made.

21:9

120hz+

10bit

HDR

2160p+

Low input latency

Fast Pixel repsonse

Variable Refresh rate

True Blacks

37" - 50" (at 21:9) sizes.

Its also possible to have all these things together at once, creating a truely "god like" series of monitors at varying sizes.

The reason we wont get it, ever, is it would reduce any manufactuers monitor catalogue down to just a few variations of the above monitor if they priced it realistcly, or if they kept their current catalogue they would have to price such a monitor up so high due to their current prices for mintors, that very few would sell and thus wouldnt be viable for them.

We may see new individual techs, but we will never see all that a monitor 'could' or 'should' be.
