Hardest game to run right now

Matthewwatson777
Go to solution Solved by Andreas Lilja,

Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Terrible optimization, and the community is made of fanboys who'd rather have more cosmetics..

.

With my specs I got some stutter on "very high" (below "ultra")

Great and gorgeous game tho, even if it's only Ghost Recon in name.

Depends, do you mean? Hardest to run legitly? Like a well optimized game that is just super demanding?
I would say Crysis 3, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Witcher 3, GTA 5 (With Max Graphics including advanced), Arma 3 (if the map.mission is well optimized)

Wow, the amount of misinformation is amazing.

Unoptimised, Star Citizen is quite demanding. I cannot be bothered to search through the recent titles that are released. But most have said DE:MD and are right on that front, hence why Linus and co use it a lot in benchmarking.

If we are going with *Hardest* I'd say the Windows 95 copy of Panzer Dragoon I have! ;)

I'd say anything recent by Ubisoft because they suck at optimization.

They got their act together for rainbow 6, for honor & division.

Real answer: I think it'd be star citizen or Planetside 2.

Of all the recent games I've played, Vermintide 2 is surprisingly resource heavy.

Steep,Wildlands, and I'd venture the Crew 1 and from my experience 2 are pretty poorly optimized. Require WAY more resources and somehow don't look as good as other games.

Which kind of sucks I tried Steep on a free weekend, and if it wasn't so poorly optimized and I didn't have to change my sound settings I'd buy it.

Top 3 that I know of would be Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Assassins Creed Origins and Final Fantasy XV. As of June 2018, you can't run them on 4k Ultra and reach 60fps (on a single card)*.

*Maybe with a Titan V but barely.

I don't have Wildlands but I heard it's pretty demanding. As for the other games, they don't have as wide an audience IMO. Not many car games sell well from what I've seen. As for steep, I think that's even less. But that's not to say they're not optimized. Their most popular games are better now though. Mainly Rainbow Six.

Sound compatibility is THE WORST. No one cares about sound that much imo. If your sound card isn't compatible... tough luck. Sony Vegas doesn't support my sound card & it's not even obscure. I've sent multiple inquiries & haven't even gotten a reply.
Even Pew Die Pie had my soundcard at one point. (Steinberg UR 22 if you're curious. 100 USD music interface basically.) On top of this I've had problems with on board sound & on board sound drivers. I think the one in my current mother board is completely broken.

Final Fantasy XV ate my 1080ti for breakfast at ultra 3440x1400, definitely the most demanding game I've played.
