Gaming Builds at Every Price Point

Builds at Every Price Point

Why this exists

This whole subforum is about helping people plan out their new rigs, but so often people have budgets in the same range and want the same thing. Hence, the Builds at Every Price Point. I've never seen something of this nature before. The goal of this thread is to NOT to say "this is the computer you should build at this price point". The goal of this thread is to offer stock builds that people can either buy and put together or modify to suit their own needs. Please note that these builds do not include monitor, peripherals, or OS so plan for that in your budget

FAQ

"But you chose the wrong [x], [y] is a better value"

That may well be. If you can make a convincing, non-fanboyish case as to why I'll update the list immediately

"You should add [x] price point!!!"

In an ideal world, I would but I only have so much time

"Waaaah I like [x] brand and you included [y] brand instead"

That makes you a fanboy. Kindly fuck off.

What do you mean by workstation? There are many workstation uses that all have different hardware uses and there is no one size fit all build.

That's a good point. I'll have to figure that out. Ideas?

either do a build for the main uses(vms, video editing, photo editing, 3d modeling, 3d rendering, machine learning, coding)

or just don't do workstation builds and ask people for their uses first.

There's nothing really to figure out. There is no one build that will work best for everyone, and on top of that, prices change constantly. This has been attempted so many times and it just never actually accomplishes anything, because it can't.

Workstation builds will be gone momentarily

It's hard to make this thread useful because everyone has different requirements for their gaming PC (you can't just make a one fits all type of build). Someone might need 16GB of ram instead of 8GB, someone might want a SSD/HDD of a different capacity than the builds above, etc. Not to mention that most of the builds above aren't even the best for the budget for only gaming. You said above that you modify any of these builds and for this reason I think this thread isn't useful, because most people aill modify thir builds if they use this thread and it't better/easier to put together a list from scratch that suits your needs.

I think the idea here is not for it to be a "One size fits everyone at a certain price point," but more for this to be a good starting place. You can look at these builds and make modifications as needed, if it doesn't fit your specific use case.
