pretty hard to find the actual specs. What chips are on it, and if its dual rank or single rank, but i guess you could get it somewhat higher im pretty sure.

Our competitor recently kicked off a sweepstakes to celebrate the first 40 years of the x86 processor by giving away 8,086 limited edition processors.

We appreciate the advancements they’ve helped drive with the x86 architecture over the last four decades. But, we’re ready to take it from here. That’s why we’re giving 40 performance-hungry enthusiasts in the U.S. an opportunity to celebrate the next 40 years of high-performance computing by trading in their commemorative processor prize for our CPU that enables you to work, play and create with heavy metal.

AMD want to join this thread it seems. Not to be outdone by Intel's recent 8086k giveaway, AMD are now offering to swap that 8086k for a Threadripper 1950X, giving you a bunch more cores to play with. Based on current UK pricing, the 1950X would cost you around 75% more to buy, not including mobo or other stuff.

Small print applies but in particular note it is limited to USA.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

So, this is AMD kind of trolling Intel.

But this is funny as hell. xD

This also makes the Ryzen 3 much more attractive for the budget builder. The prospect of getting a decent B350 motherboard, and being able to overclock, then upgrade in a year or two without having to buy a new motherboard is a big deal.
