Electric shock from keyboard.

So I just got a Redragon keyboard... its not a plastic build... so now I'm constantly being shocked by the outline of the frame, CAPSLOCK n Scroll lock LED/logo.

.. I dunno how to fix this electric shock I separated the keyboard wire from other cables, put a cloth under it and changed the USB port.. nothing has worked yet.

It could be that the keyboard is grounded to the metal frame, hence you getting shocked. A anti static mat on the floor should fix it. However if I where to experience this I would return it and buy a keyboard that doesn't shock me.

if your keyboard is shocking you repeatably, something has broke with it and get a new one. That is a serious fault

I don't think its my keyboard thats causing it.. because whenever I plug my phone to my pc I get the same electric shock on the outline of the phone..

Are you shocking the keyboard, or is it shocking you? There is a difference there...

 

If you generate static charge on yourself by any means, then it is possible you will discharge that to any grounded metal surface, which might include that keyboard. This is not a hardware fault. This would usually manifest as occasional one-off events. Change your clothing or furnishings to different materials would most likely resolve it.

 

Conversely, if there is some elevated voltage on the keyboard, that is shocking you, that would be a very different problem. It is unlikely for a keyboard to generate high enough voltages unless it has really weird lighting systems, so the more likely problem in that situation is the power supply in the PC malfunctioning. What is normally ground is some elevated voltage. This type of problem should be reproducible at will, and be continuous. If this is the case, it would be a safety problem.

Umm so If I lift up my feet from the ground it doesn't shock. but If I have my feet on the ground it does shock.

I would strongly suspect your power supply or the power cable is malfunctioning, and this is a safety risk. If you have another cable, try swapping it. Otherwise, I would not use it further and seek to replace ASAP.

Did you ever fixed it? I'm facing the same problem with my razer blackwidow x
