Can any search engine compete with google's?

I've decided to compare google, bing and duckduckgo.Wow...O.o there's a reason why google is....google.There was some weird movie announced a while ago, set in post apocalyptic england where cities eat each other. My query was "movie set in england where cities eat each other".Results?Bing - nothing, duckduckgo - nothing, google - found it.Few months ago I had another such weird query, results were the same. What is Google's secret? How can no one still compete with them?

its their muitibillion dollar algorithm to be quick and short about it

otherwise its just the amount of time and money again they pour into being the number one search result provider in not only the US but basically everywhere they are so large and so powerful and have such optimized networks its almost impossible to compete

Other search engines are trying to stand out by other means than simply the amount of queries per second and the company's financial status.

Take for example DuckDuckGo, they try to keep your searches private, and grade websites you visit on their privacy.

Until recently, it was unthinkable that anyone could compete with Google in the search realm. However, there are now many smaller players in the search game that are growing rapidly.

So that is how you can compete with Google. Offer services that Google simply doesn't.

Never use google! NEVER!

I know I know, its hard.

Gmail and Google Search are notorious evil. They save even your emails! WOW! Your private emails!!!!!!

And Youtube, I mean how can digital age live without it.

They got the cats pajama's on that one!

Google Maps too!

All you can do is use TOR and a VPN when dealing with those.

How does one search then, I dunno. Yahoo aint any better. MSN too.

As far as searching goes, Google is the best.

duckduckgo seems to be the most secure from what I've seen, they definitely don't harvest as much data as Google.

As for bing.....

Let's just say it's better off not existing.

It uses several hundreds of sources:

Yahoo!

Wikipedia

Wolfram Alpha

Bing

Its own Web crawler (the DuckDuckBot)

etc.
