My experience playing PUBG was plagued with bugs and crushes but Fortnite is smooth sailing. I still prefer PUBG's gameplay (just my opinion).

I just changed to fortnite myself from PUBG, so glad I did.

 

the building aspect takes some practice but it is so much more fun than camping all day

I like that part too but the shooting mechanics in PUBG feels better ( to me )

You don't have to camp on PUBG, it's actually pretty boring if you do, and you don't really learn how to play very well as you get into less firefights.

I know you don't have to, but that's really how the game is.

You can't do firefight if the game is built around the idea of mainly camping and long range fighting

I mean, Fortnite does deserve its success, so you can't really blame them there. I'm not saying it's a better game, as I massively prefer PUBG (and yes, I have played both).

 

One thing I do disagree with are all these people saying that PUBG is plagued with cheaters and bugs. In all my whopping 230 hours of playing, I've encountered less than 5 cheaters total, and 99% of all the bugs are related to vehicles, and most of the time are funny, rather than annoying.

Fortnite hasn't cut PUBG's player base in half, the reason why a lot of people are quitting PUBG is the bugs and performance/netcode. I mean, dying to desync doesn't feel very nice, I'll tell you that.

This doesn't surprise me.  Epic Games is like Valve and Blizzard; they have a passion for money (they're a business, c'mon...), but they also have a passion for video games.  PUBG, from what I've seen, only has a passion for money.  They don't care about bugfixing or improving user experience, they just care about money.  Or...at the very least, they don't understand how important user experience is in the gaming industry.  Blizzard and Valve built their empires because they're run by fellow gamers who understand what people like to see in video games.  PUBG really needs to wake up and listen to their playerbase, because if they don't, they might be gone soon.

I think PUBG Corp cares about gameplay... the problem is that they're going up against Epic Games, which has far more experience and a longstanding reputation for knowing what gamers like.  Mostly, anyway.  It's like pitting a sports car against a freight train.  The sports car is great for many people, but put it in a game of chicken (pun not entirely intended) with a train and it's always going to lose.

Fortnite's strength is that it is super accessible. Pretty much anyone can download it, get their friends to download it and play squads with minimal hassle. Can't say the same about PUBG

That's a good way to boil it down.  It doesn't cost anything to get started; spending money doesn't give you an advantage; you can play on everything from a cutting-edge PC to a two-year-old phone.

When people say PUBG is build around camping... If all you play is TPP then yeah you see a lot of campers but in FPP people camp less. Heck I won plenty of fortnite games by just camping my ass. I'd enjoy fortnite more if there was less building and rng involved
